There was no slobber, no real freaking out. It was pretty meh.

As for if his actions were disproportionate to what is considered "normal" expression... who's judging that?

...then this video wouldn't have landed on seibertron's boards and been seen by 100's of people.

Honestly, alot of people, if they saw Michael Bay walking on the street, alot would go, "Yooooou. Dick." So really, cursing is an honest and real expression of emotion.

And besides, is a little yelling and lunging in a SHORT video by a fan somehow more invasive than a multi-million dollar media blitz that threw Transformers in your face for like 3 months straight?

It's okay to say, Bay did this or that. But to write insults - like you did earlier - well, that's just so immature. Sorry, Wing.

And we know that one of our first contacts with this movie, Don Murphy, NEVER threw insults around or belittle the G1 fans.

There is an expected negative reaction when ANY old entertainment franchise gets updated or retold.
BUT... RARELY are those on the project doing their best to SQUASH anyone holding onto the older version by MAKING FUN OF THEM.
From the ground floor, the "air" about this movie has been to repeatedly piss off the older fanbase.

Just like Beast Machines was a mess due to the writer not giving a damn, THAT'S how it's felt during the whole Bay thing.

The insults... no, the UNEXPECTED level of insults, initially came from the makers, not from the fans.

Before the movie was released, those of us who supported the movie were condemned and insulted.

Now that the movie is out I still find myself getting ridiculed and insulted. The only difference now is it's only a handful of people who seem unable to accept the differing opinions of others.

Same goes for those who dislike the movie. I can accept their opinion and I feel no need to insult them. However the few who have taken it upon themselves to act like their opinion is the only one that matters and anyone else who thinks differently is an "unevolved ape" is making it hard for those who simply wish to say "I just didn't like the movie".

And of course there are movie supporters who are also narrow minded idiots who feel the need to insult those whose opinion differs.

So in the end, it's a small minority on both sides who seem unable to respect the opinions of others and act like children.

I'm sorry, but that is just not true. I've seen several people on this forum and others who say just that.

Burn has the right of it. Personally I could care less if you like the movie or dispise it. That's your opinion and you're welcome to it.

What I have taken offense at is those claiming that you're only a "true fan" if you hated the movie. Or that you're some how unintellegent or a miriad of other similar insults. You can dislike whatever you want. But using insults and positions of "supiriority" does not strengthen your argument. In fact it actually weakens your argument and ultimately agrivates those you're trying oh so hard to convince.

If you want to actually discuss the merits or disappointments in the movie and what is actually wrong with it that's fine. Heck I like the movie and I can still agree that there are things wrong with it. Nothing is perfect after all. But just insulting each other for having differing opinions is childish and gets us no where.

Yeah, I mean we're fans of G1 Transformers, but we KNOW it'd never have been a super-direct port.
However, the chances of a classy hybrid, still able to get the sales this one did while pissing off noone but an insane few... blown into oblivion, harshly.

And we find this most sad, as the chance will not come around again for another 20+ years.

The quote you dug out was yet another example of a reaction to someone putting the "raped my childhood" catchphrase into my mouth. So I only used the word "rape" in response to that. It's not a figure of speech that I tend to use at my own whim.

You take this outta context. The only reason this has been said(and yes, I've said it as well) is because people who do not like the movie claimed it was gonna tank. After it's first sucessful week, they said it was a fluke and was still gonna tank. It stopped now, but it was ridiculous for a while. Just cuz it made money doesn't mean it was perfect. It just means it didn't tank like those who did not like the movie thought it would.

Honestly this thread has gone far enough..

I don't care who started the insults they are not welcome here.
Some of you guys need to learn to discuss things without making them personal and slinging insults around.

Everyone has opinions and they all differ, stop shoving them down people's throats.
