Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Burn wrote:See, I've watched that trailer numerous times over the last few days and I'm yet to see how it will work as an Alien prequel.
IF it is it's going to be VERY loosely tied. I think he's just thrown in a few nods here and there.

The egg chamber? The "eggs" look far too smooth and clean. If anything he might just be adding a few nods and leaving it up to people whether they want to accept it as a prequel or not.

Someone who thinks reissues are KO's, lol
But yeah, I should probably go watch the Alien quartet, always bits and pieces but never an entire movie.

Yes.
But, luckily there's a xenomorph skull on a medical table to examination at around 0:35 in the trailer.

The original I could kind of understand not liking too much. It's good, but a little slow, and not overly bloody(barring one scene), effects heavy or funny, but Aliens? That film is great on so many levels, but I guess it's great in an "action movie" kind of way, and that may not be your style.
As for Alien 3 and Resurrection, if you didn't like the first two, you probably wouldn't like them.
Alien 3 goes back to the horror movie/slasher roots, but the story is just weird and not overly exciting throughout, plus it's dirty and kinda ugly to look at. It's not bad per say, but an almost total 180 from Aliens, and a couple storyline choices could tick off fans.
Alien: Resurrection is....a forgettable sequel? It's not horrible(I like it a little more than 3), but it is so not up to par with the first two. It has some new ideas and tries to run with them, but they really don't succeed. It at least tries to continue the mythos though.
Finally, a quick word on the Alien vs. Predator movies: First one has a decent story but was cursed with a PG-13 rating and some lackluster action. Second one has better action, but half the time you can't see it and the story/characters play out like a cheap slasher flick...I guess(I'm not a slasher fan at all).
Burn wrote:Resurrection was an attempt to recreate the success of Aliens by taking things back into space but replacing Marines with mercenaries.
It was a definite improvement over Alien 3 (which in it's self was probably an attempt to recreate Alien by setting it in a restricted environment) but still failed.
