A good yarn?

Whispers abound of it value, stories of its powerare passed from generation to generation, rumours of its appearance surface and die again - and not one ever comes close to describing its sheer magnitude. The fabled Craoí Dubh Engine, a device capable of converting emotions into raw energy - and, with skilled application, into physical matter - has long been the subject of Cybertronian legend. The most popular myth holds that it is all that remains of one of the thirteen original transformers created by Primus, though legends differ as to which of them the relic belongs. Another telling of the myth places its origin even further back in time, to the days before Primus and Unicron split from the allspark to explore the multiverse. The only particular which the legends can agree upon is that its current resting place is somewhere within the ruins of Vos, the site of the ancient Catacombs of Tertius, a vast, crumbling mausoleum containing many relics the fabled general amassed in his lifetime.

Hmm, this'd be the first once since the 2 new factions. Now if I were to run this, would you guys prefere it to be good vs evil (ie Cons + Preds vs bots + maxi's) or a 4 way free for all?

while a 4 way free for all would be ideal, the besties don't have the missionsto make that plausible (or at least let any level fight anyone) let alone the population to make the missions pop up in equal enough numbers to give them a fighting chance on their ownsome.

I'd love a 4 way battle as well, but yeah, without the missions it's just not possible. As it is Squishy-man is stuck in the arena because there are no missions available to him at high levels.

Unless we can convince the powers that be to change up the mission brackets as we suggested. Surely that is at least possible.

Hmm, yeah, the sheer fact that the furrys dont have enough numbers dose mean even if the missions existed, it'd hardly be worth them turning up.

Good Vs Evil it is.

Ive spoken to Mkall, and he dosnt have any problem with the possiblity of actual prizes (I've sujested a set of alts for the winning faction(s), and the choice of a personal alt as well as possibly an xp prize for the most homicidal.

Hopefully he'll be albe to put it up on the announcments too.

And I'll keep the ideas for hunts in mind for when next I have time of something.

As for when this will happen, Im looking at sometime Sat 29th, until Sat sometime 5th.

If you're open to the idea I had for the tournie's MacGuffin, I can run with some fluff for a storyline.

I like it.

Might be worth including something about a group of transformers who guard it, then their alts can be the alts awarded to the victorious side (this of course does mean I'll need one of the alt makers ot run us up a few alts too).

The following suggestion is put forth to encourage Autobot participation and is not intended as a slight towards JP.

Why not get an Autobot Commander (or one of the squish bags that isn't Bun-Bun because he makes an effort) to write up the storyline? I mean really, Red put this here in HMWGD in the hopes of encouraging other factions to join in but again it seems a 'Con dominated discussion.

So come on folks, Red's making the effort to spice up the game for all, help him out by stepping up!

Who's going to run up some alts? Phaze and Windracer, if I remember, were the ones doing the thread back in the day (and Mkall but he's probably swamped already), so roping them in would be a good idea.

I'm guessing that's a complament.
Thanks Burnsey.

The Preds are actually running a hunt right now, unfortunatly I made it complicated to the point of intimidating #-o  but I'll try to run another easy hunt between the end of this one and the start of Reds to try and keep what Preds we have left active.
The opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.

Well I'd like JP to do some of the writing, as I know he is a good writer, but that dosnt mean we cant have a 'bot doing it too. One idea I had was amybe to get JP and 'a bot' to work together on the story, producing 2 different stories, covering it from the point of view of each faction (perhaps with slight propaganda style differences).

As for the rules, I'm not sure if I should go for every '0', or every '0' and '5', or even all the evens, I really need the opinions of those who have done this before. *cough* sustain *cough* :P

I intend to count ALL missions (inclunding tag team missions) against the relivent factions (ie all missions other than bot vs max and con vs pred). Initally I was also going to count all (valid) missions with one side empty, but I've decided not to do that.

every 0 is my favourite as then we have less missions to count, espiecially if we add in an attempt to name the "Man of the match" for each side, which i'd really like to do.

Thats why I do things like this, I love compiling al that sorta data!

Right, what I think I'll do for scoring is get whoever volenteers to count blocks of x number of missions for the overall score, then pass on to me a list of all the missions that count (ie all the missions that have at least one bot/max vs 1 con/pred) (and the score for their block of course) so I can do the 'man of the match' stuff (and the main scores).

So, can all those who are interested in helping on the counting please pipe up after this post!

Next thing on the list, prizes.
