I'm looking forward to these guys as I do not have a Rumble or Frenzy for my Neo-G1 shelf. But, I do think these guys are the weak links in the Generations/Reveal the Shield figures coming out as of late. I really do not care for the "pile drivers" behind his arm. I would have rather not had them at all personally.

Not only is this the most sensible argument for the pairing of name/color but it also has the added bonus of making him sound like a character from Reservoir Dogs. RIB it is! It's official.

I can't believe the whole color/name argument still lives. Both of them have shown up in different colors at different times, so really neither of them have one definite color scheme.

As for the figure, I am really excited. I can't wait to have this guy (and his brother).

It's funny ... I'm one of the "Cyclonus is from a Bombshell clone" but I'm also on the RIRFIB bandwagon since the cartoon got it wrong from the toys and since Takara got it right ... but the cartoon is my biggest influence. My own arguments about this are hypocritical and nonsensical.

For me, in both cases, the answer is found in an accumulation of the evidence and in pre-production materials.

The preproduction series Bible for the G1 toon states that Rumble should be the red robot.

The preproduction storyboards for the 86 film clearly states the Bombshell becomes Cyclonus.

Somebody at the Hasbro desgin team is having a very Merry non-denominational winter holiday over having released this image, I wonder if it's some sort of prank pulled post-office party!!

This best bit is that this is the only argument I can think of in TF fandom that stays firmly tongue in cheek and nobody takes seriously ;-)

tbf, the chart isn't exactly accurate in regards to United FIBRIR, considering that neither are explicitly stated as being either Frenzy or Rumble and recently Japan has been more adoptive of the English terms.

Sticking with Takara here. I much prefer the silver weapons to gold. Theirs is more dominated by blue as well, that's a big plus to me.

This is just stupid. They are whatever color you want them to be. They have no definite colors, so no one is right or wrong. Get over it.

Finaly someone who agrees with me thats what I was trying to tell them but they won't listen glad you and me are on the same page
