Apparently, he's a Volvo Excavator, which would explain Megs' new treads.

Within that context when Megs was reactivated if the mode he choose (maybe from memory, maybe in a download from Scalpel) he just reform part of himself or the additional parts from the others to 'make' tank treads.
Sometimes the simplest of answers is the best to go with.
That works for me. It's weird most of these "plot holes" are caused by people over thinking and not seeing whats right in front of them.

No, the "plot holes" are real questions that even my wife would ask me (and she's not a TF fan). Having said that, don't all hardcore fans of any franchise over-think things?

Yeah like Kirk v. Picard, but all the plot holes I hear people complaining about are easily explained with the simplest answer.

I never read that, but I just assumed his vocal processor wasn't at 100% functionality. It may have been easier to for him to just use the radio.

1- Why is Optimus "born" a Prime? What differences?
2- How are Primes generated in the very first place? After the BIG SEVEN, of course...
3- Reproduction anyone?
4- Megatron "brother" of Optimus?
I'm utterly confused.

They were probably picking up Scalpel too, he was in Ravage on the way down.

also your avatar pic is awesome whats it from? is it yours? its very zim! do you have a full pic of the character?
oh and to haul this post back on topic, although i frikken HATE the psychotic bloodthirsty murderising rendition of prime in rotf, the excuse i placate myself with is he was revived by a super weapon energy source and "upgraded" with decepticon parts, jetfire was a decepticon, even if he switched sides he still revelled in destroying his foes and was built for combat... where as prime was built for more utilitarian purposes...

I considered "brother" to be more like a really close friend. That's just my take on it.
I believe (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that one of the prequel comics to TF1 said "Lord Megatron" and Optimus Prime together were leaders of Cybertron. Megatron went power-hungry, so to speak (due to the influence from The Fallen, I believe in one of those comics [Defiance?] before TF:RotF), and the rest is history.
