Now in these pics, they all look the same length. Thanks for posting jimsloth. For those not liking the mod, if you reread my last post, my reason for liking this mod has to do with the shape of the spikes, not the length. If you look at all the pics posted, the side posts are connected all the way across as if one big piece. The center spike is like a seperate part. With the crown rotated, it has a shape more like that in those images. Is it perfect? No. The length of the spikes would need adjustment. Though they weren't the right length the official way either, so I don't see a problem.jimsloth wrote:
I just popped it off. It took some prying inward of the tabs on the inside top of his head to get it loose. The crown itself had no modifications. Just rotated 90 degrees.superquad7 wrote:TM2 Dinobot wrote:I don't get it. What exactally did you do? Bend the top fins in? Why? What TM2 was requesting was for you to discuss your process in the mod? "What exactally did you do?"
My whole point was to get it to look more like the cartoon. Length of the points aside, it is closer. This argument is merely your opinion. You have a point when comparing to a real tiara, but it was never meant to look like a real tiara. It's meant to look kinda like cartoon Galvatron's head. If it makes you feel better, I left my e-hobby and original Galvatron's heads alone. I only modded this one because he's cartoon colors, so he should be cartoon crowned.Tramp wrote:The problem is the height oif the central crestt really needs to be at least the same height or taller than the side crests. Otherwise, it really detracts from the look. If you lok at any realk crown or tiara, the front point is always the tallest. never the shortest. It just doesn't look good aesthetically with the side points higher.
But simply rotating the crown isn't enough, you need to lengthen the front crest (and the back one for symmetry in cannon mode). Then, and only then would you achieve the desired effect. having the central point shorter than the side points just makes him look goofy.Insane Galvatron wrote:My whole point was to get it to look more like the cartoon. Then it wouldn't be a minor mod. To get a completely cartoon accurate look, it would take more extensice modification. So to an effect, you are right. However, I never said COMPLETELY cartoon accurate. I said MORE cartoon accurate. As in closer than the standard way it comes. IMO ( as well as pretty much everyone else but you ), rotating the crown is closer than non-rotated. So the "goofy" look is your opinion. No need preaching it as fact.Tramp wrote:But simply rotating the crown isn't enough, you need to lengthen the front crest (and the back one for symmetry in cannon mode).
