Fair enough. Your post also caught me on a bad day so perhaps my response was a bit harsh. However, I do understand real life vehicle scaling, and that's not what I was trying to get at. Maybe I should have been clearer.

I simply want the Aerialbots to be the same size as the Seekers. Why can this not be done? I also wanted the new Needlenose and subsequent Windsweeper to be voyagers as well, but they're not as high profile as the Aerialbots, so it's more palatable.

Yes, I understand this. I wasn't asking for Transformers to suddenly adhere to the laws of physics (as if they ever did) I just wanted the Aerialbots to be the same size as the Seekers. I don't think we've ever gotten that in any line, since 1985.

I could go with the Classics Seekers and the CW limbs, but the voyager seekers are a lot better and CW had good engineering, a bigger size could only improve that, IMO.

Because the Aerialbots (particularly the four limb-bots) are supposed to be smaller than the Seekers in robot mode, at the average size of the Autobot Cars.

CW Devastator and POTP Predaking had Voyager sized limbs and they were both Titans.

"Titans" were their official classification, but all of these limbs could have been sold as "deluxes" for their simplicity and hollowness.

Except for their size and shape preventing any of them from fitting inside Deluxe class packaging.

The packaging is pretty much irrelevant.
Especially when the figure is too big to fit, they simply disassemble some parts that you have to put back together. They do this often.

I'm pretty sure if one were to completely disassemble one of those Predacons, it still would not fit in a deluxe box. Looking at Predaking, its near same height as Omega Supreme.

I can't tell for Predaking, but having owned and handled the cheap-ass CW Devastator, only Longhaul would be a hard fit in a deluxe box. Still, they are "voyager" in size only because they are almost as good as happy meal toys. Hollow, simple, soft plastics, limited articulations... The undersized KO is ironically 100X better. Especially for the price.

Yeah, it's understandable, but other than the combined form, the CW Constructicon bot modes were very lacking in multiple ways. I will say Hastak had their face and head sculpts nailed. I guess minus Mixmaster the alt modes were good in terms of appearance.

No reason to change my tune at this point; Hastak has had my confidence for a while now, largely due to the SS86 subline. Also, specific to combiners, Legacy Menasor was done really well. Or course there are things I would've personally wanted different, but the vast majority of those were design issues, not engineering.
All this to say, Devy and Superion will be good combiners. The appearances may not be over-the-top better than the CW versions, but my gut is telling me that both the engineering and the stability of the combined forms will be solid. Imo that's a pretty big deal. Almost all of the CW combiners were relatively flimsy.
With most of these being deluxe class, no one should expect anything too spectacular from individual bot modes. But I'm hopeful the Constructicons are good. I'm willing to buy two sets-- having those 6 individual characters on a shelf together would be a highlight of my collection.

One thing is sure, Legacy Superion will be amazing like Legacy Menasor (cross-compatible, please?) and one thing is certain, SS86 Devastator will blow the old CW out of the waters. It will be the same size overall in combined form as L Menasor and L Superion (at least, I hope) and the overall quality will be much, much better. Especially since the total price of the SS86 team will be at least double that of the CW set.

Should they move away from SS86 to cover characters that appeared in the Animated show after the Movie? I was wondering just how long they can carry on with it once all the "damaged" bots have been released.

I have no doubt there will be aspects of both these new versions that make them better than the previous ones. One of my concerns is the overall appearances…. Of course I want good engineering and solid stability when combined…. I just hope they look really good as well.
Again, Hastak has my confidence, but my expectations at this point aren’t exactly low.

I have a feeling that after 2026 and the 40th anniversary of this movie has ended, Hastak will nix the SS86 line. While there are options, most don’t seem very realistic.
Astrotrain and Shockwave would both be pretty mehh if Hastak is just going to re-release the previous versions in maybe slightly altered paint apps.
The same can be said for the Insecticons, and Reflector.
Kranix?? Maybe, but that’s kind of a weird one-off.
I’d like a new Quintesson, but like Kranix, it seems to have limited appeal, especially because they don’t really transform.
I’d almost be relatively mad if they were to throw ER Grapple into a SS86 box; imo that would be a waste.
I would like to see an upscaled Cyclonus, but that’s probably just me, and I’m not claiming that would be a good use of a leader class slot.

I wasn’t going to be surprised if this subline ended at the end of this year. It will be very easy for Hastak to do some TtM 40th Anniversay packaging in 2026. And considering everything that’s being released next year, I won’t be surprised if that’s the plan.

I don’t ever see Hastak putting G1 figures to rest, but it will be interesting to see what happens once SS86 is retired.

The design team has shown interest in adding comic characters to the line (separate from the non-SS Pulse exclusives), though I'm sure Bayverse fans would love to see all that extra stuff go away.

And with how the main line is branching-out, similar to any of the specific labels such as "G1 Universe", there could always be one in the vein of "'86 Movie", or "Cartoon Universe"...
Again, there are so few legit options at this point for SS86. I mean, of course it's possible, but can you imagine getting the coneheads again for SS86 when Ramjet and Thrust haven't even been re-released in Legacy yet?

SS86 hands down has been my favorite line, and is what really helped reignite my interest in collecting since CW and UW. But it's gotta end at some point. I know it doesn't matter in the grand scheme, but I'd personally prefer its final release be some sort of high note like Soundwave rather than "dead" versions of Windcharger and Wheeljack.

That seems to be what they're implying, that anything made in a studio can be in Studio Series, we're already seeing that with Gamer Edition. As for the "main line", it's just going to keep doing whatever the theme is. It's not like SS could ever hope to or even would want to do every character that ever showed up on the cartoon.

Why not? It's technically possible. It's not a never-ending list, and the cartoon was produced by a studio. Most of them would just need to be reissued in SS packaging, because they have already been released in multiple versions since WFC began. I'm not saying I want that to happen, just that it could.

Personally, I wish Hasbro just took the cast list from the end of TF:TM and just used that. The dead versions I can take or leave.

A few reasons: 1) Not every character (and we're talking over 100 Autobots in the G1 cartoon alone) needs to be done in Studio Series, especially if they can't be done better than in other lines.
2) The line might eventually run out of live action characters worth making, but we all know they'll also eventually circle back and start doing characters they haven't done in a while all over again. The line is already on its seventh year (sixth anniversary), it's only a matter of time before they start taking another whack at the 2018 lineup. There isn't an infinite number of slots for cartoon stuff once you factor in movies, games, and probably comics.
3) And really, Studio Series isn't going to last forever. Seven years is an eternity in Transformers years, this year it ties with G1 (in the US) and next year it will surpass it. Eventually someone up the food chain is going to want to replace it or make a drastic change to it, it's already lasted longer than many of us ever expected.

About the SS86 Bee. Sure, the lack of a VW licence is a shame, but he still rock that "PS1" look. The car is just perfect IMO and the bot mode blow the Masterpiece Bee 2.0 out of the waters. The backpack is clean and tight. Plus the transformation is simple and fun.

The backpack ain't so bad. Especially compared to the MP-44





So far, if legit, it looks nice.

If the backpack bugs you, just stick with ER. Get the Autobot 3 pack from Takara with the better colored Prime.

Even Siege is a decent G1 styled Prime.

But, really? I think the backpack is fine. I'm looking forward to the last G1 styled Prime I'll ever buy. After this I'm done.

From what we can see in that image, I think this looks solid.
I don’t think the backpack looks that bad at all.
Sure, it’s probably bigger than it should be, but for one, I don’t mind this character having a slightly bulkier profile. Not to mention, those parts most likely benefit the alt mode quite a bit.
Second, this appears to have butterfly joints; with the shoulders pushed back slightly, the backpack is going to be emphasized less.

Is it just me, or does it look like that chest is fake... It totally looks like it's not the actual truck cab front.

The cab might be just folded up in the backpack, and we get a faux chest.

A bit disappointed if that is the case.

My only potential complaint from this blurry picture so far is the headsculpt. Can't get a good look at it, but i hoped for something matching the recent MP. Volvo Prime had a solid prime headsculpt too I thought

Agreed about the head sculpt…. It’s not quite right, unfortunately…
