Seems a tiny bit shorter that Earthrise based on pictures since I don't actually own Earthrise. But looks a but more intricate and with better engineering overall.
So basically a Voyager in the same vein as SS-86 Hot Rod.

Yeah,he is a bit shorter
But the engineering is pretty great on this guy. There's two layers of panels under his feet. The Earthrise deluxe had partsforming and this toy removes that cheat completely. The only other time we've ever had that accomplished was with the MP.

In the alt mode, those huge hinges on the sides of the van are ugly and - as many others have said - lack of yellow stripes is another issue.
I don't think these figures are worthy their price.

This is starting to become more prevalent I think/feel, the construction of this new Ironhide closely resembles the cheaper product lines for the budget minded right down to the look of the plastic used. While the internal mechanics might be there in terms of quality/complexity, if the outside doesn't look on par then what's the point? I get that these will never be Masterpiece level quality but for the prices these are selling for these days I'd like a little more attention placed on the outer shells. The gaps and cut lines can really detract from alt modes which is why I very rarely display them that way, in contrast to how the G1 line appeared to look almost seamless when in alt modes. Granted the level of articulation wasn't present back then so there wasn't a compromise needed to fit that aspect into the modes.
While some kids may get these I don't Think it's to the extent everyone thinks, otherwise why bother with the other obvious kid lines? Such as Core Class, or for the Spark line etc. I also don't know that many kids getting $35 action figure type toys when most of them would rather get a smart device or video game. Maybe when a deluxe bot was $16. Heck even when I was a kid getting Transformers was a rare treat due to cost versus Joes or Star Wars figures.

More than a rumour, it's fact now:

Hasbro literally has kid focus groups for all these so called "collector" figures, they don't have focus groups involving fans. And they provide the numbers (70% of TF toys are bought for kids aged less than 10 years old), letting us know that kids/parents are the majority users/buyers. Older fans can't sustain the brand, and you can see this in any store you go to. Sure, the first batch of figures put up can sell out to fans who want the product NOW, but what about the restocks? Who's gonna buy all those fossilizers, Arcees and Shadow Panthers? Sure as hell aint fans. And the first big price jump we saw was in the TLK line when Hasbro rereleased that Bumblebee no fans asked for. And yet that Bumblebee sold out, even with a second factory run. It was the single best selling TF figure of the year and few fans bought it. Hasbro took note, the next film's entire toyline was made for kids and same goes for the Rise of the Beasts line, at least when initially planned before the date changed. So yeah, we have the numbers, TFs are made and bought for kids.

Strangely, everything points to yet another new version of G1 Prowl with no "Package Refresh" or Universe tags (though IDW comics are still possible because the universe tags only seem to designate the character's main origin outside of the toys or cartoons).
Yeah I'd wait on selling Prowl, so far all we know about that Prowl listing is that it isn't a direct rerelease, so it could be a retooled/new G1 Prowl (gross) or it could be any other Prowl.Till-all-R1 wrote:Okay so with what all was wrong with Seige/ER Ironhide I get doing a new version ground up.Jelze Bunnycat wrote:In the newly revealed list of Hasbro Legacy listings. Yet for Prowl I thought the shared ER Bluestreak mold was pretty darn good, fragile windows aside, so why not a simple reissue of that only not using clear plastic this time? I guess because Ironhide is all new people expect Prowl to be as well? And if it's a Generations release then wouldn't a reissue be more likely than new mold?
Seeing these two in the pipeline do tempt me into selling my ER 2pk and hoping I can at least get back half of what I paid. At the same time I don't want to sell it off only to find out I don't like the new version of Prowl. lol

Keep the toys. Their limited supply will always make them keep some worth.
