Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

HOLY $^#%! That's what you call a nail-biter. Falcons win by 3 in the Super Dome. First time since the Super Dome reopened, if memory serves me correctly. Great game regardless who won.
Nail biter I certainly agree..
That was one of the best games I have watched since last years Super Bowl..
Kudos to Atlanta and their fans on a well fought victory!Rodimus Prime wrote:NOW they can be called Aints once again.
BANNED!!! LOL![]()
Honestly they could lose all the games this year and they would not be considered aints.. They have that SB win behind them last year and that is forever in football history.
Dallas won.. crap..
Favre came back with the Vikings and won.. Good for the "old man" (he is a year older than I... CRAP THAT MEANS I AM OLD TOO.. LOL)
Rodimus Prime wrote:I don't know much about relationships between the NFL and TV stations and networks, but even if that threat was legit, Sean Payton should have still decided on what was best for the team at that point in the game. Which was, as was said, run the ball for 3 plays and then kick, if necessary.
If he bowed to the supposed pressure, then it was his fault. If he just made a stupid decision, then it was also his fault. If this cut off threat was legit, and he had gone with 4 plays instead of one and passing the time limit, even if the game had been cut off, it's not like it would have cost him his job. Especially not after a Super Bowl win.
Bottom line, either way Sean Payton screwed up.

I agree 100%.

Rodimus Prime wrote:In today's NFL, who's more important to a team in general, a quarterback or a running back?
I know there are several variables to this, such as how is the offensive line made up, what defense they're playing, what's the weather like, etc. But if you had to choose one position for any general game, which would you say is a must have?

First-Aid wrote:I hate to disagree with everyone but I honestly think that if you want to see the most important players on the field, you have 5 of them: the offensive line. THe QB may have the pressure of leading the team, but if he's on his ass, he can't do his job. A running back could be Walter Payton, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders combined, but without an O Line, he goes no where.

First-Aid wrote:Michael Vick is a sack of sh!t who is going to burn in the deepest, darkest, hottest corner of Hell one day. BUt I also agree, he is very good. I have noticed a major change in him as well since he got the starting job back. He has always had a a great arm, but his accuracy is much improved. He also doesn't seem to be looking to be "THE" guy anymore. His passing has improved and he isn't looking to run first and pass second anymore. His pocket presence is very much improved. Before he went to the hole, he was a mediocre-to-average passer with amazing running skills. His passing numbers were never that good and his accuracy was questioned. Now, however, he is an accurate passer, stays in the pocket much longer, and may be more of a threat than ever before.

Yeah, you're right. If he can continue to hone his pocket-passing skills he's gonna be better than ever.CENTURION MAXIMUS wrote:Vick aint nothin. Nothing at all. Did you like him when he was in Atlanta?
Oh, I should clarify...I'm not a Philly fan. I'm a
1. Patriots
2. Falcons
3. Michael Vick
fan.

I agree with not letting him back into the NFL. He doesn't deserve to have the opportunity to make all that money and be a public figure - and "inspiration" to children - after he showed and approved of such disregard for life in general and the laws of this society (which aren't perfect, but they're there nonetheless). I, however, disagree about forgiving him as a person. He's a worthless waste of space who needs to disappear. I'd rather watch Jim Sorgi start every Sunday. Or Bring back Ryan Leaf.

I understand people hate him and I know nothing will change that opinion. Is what he did a piece-of-shit thing to do? There's no doubt about that. But he's served his time, lost millions of dollars, and had his career, life, and image just-about destroyed.
I think he's paid for his crimes. I'm of the opinion that if you're convicted of a crime, you serve your sentence and put in your time. After that, your sentence is done and should be allowed to live your life again. To say that he shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL isn't right, IMO.
