Its a mold they attempted to make but are no longer doing and the chinese factory that stores the mold is producing it and releasing it instead. Thats what the rumour is. It could be false, but the fact that it already appeared on chinese websites that sell KOs kinda adds to this.

So, it would be a takara design (it really looks like it) but manufactured and released unofficially.

Yes, thats what ti would seem to be, it gets my money too (its not the first time I have done that for a similar release).

Also, the Tokyo Toy show did happen today and Takara was present but all they had to show was Diaclone V2. There were also a ton of model kits and train sets. No TFs.

Well, if it ever goes up on TF-Direct.com I'm all over it!! Or SirToys, I've used both (SirToys was a little better).

That's really disappointing, I thought we'd get some Shockwave/Beast Wars-esque magic like last year.

Nah, DX9 looks kinda funky and has a hell of a backpack.

To each their own, I'm just glad we have options! I'm ok with the backpack on DX-9's, but I'm not ok with the height. He seems JUST a little too tall. I've done a lot of comparisons between P-38s and all three new scaled MP Megatrons, DX-9 seems to have the alt-mode pretty nice.

What hapened to Appolyon being the winner? Also Cobo while I am being a wet blanket, let me bring the mood down even more. Due to the illegal poaching, we may no longer have rhino farts in the near future.
