What I'm trying to work out, is...there is a guy who is doing ENGLISH bios for certain markets, why and by what means are they "limited to Austrailia"...and if this is not the case, then perhaps (perhaps) a figure like Star Saber might be getting tooled up for American release (even though I wouldn't know why). The guy said he did English translation for Ultra Magnus. Okay, fine. Where is the product that features this translation, because I want that. Or, is it just the translation that we'd be getting in the US at some time in the future?

It's the australasia release of Takara Ultra Magnus. It is not for the US release. A translation was also available for the Bumblebees that were distributed in autralasia, like the one found in australia's Toysrus. As you can see from the photo below, it is still a takara release, it just has english instructions inside. This by no means is to be beleived to mean Starsabre is geared up for America and in the improbable chance that he does, they will probably do their own in house bio.

Goktimus Prime has done translations for MP Ultra Magnus, MP Bumblebee, AOE Stinger and now MP Star Saber at the request of Hasbro Australia as they will be importing all those products into Australia with the MP's being TRU exclusives.

This is just a continuation of Takara Tomy MP's being imported into Australia that began years ago with MP-02 Ultra Magnus (in TT packaging).

As far as an American release goes, you'd have to ask Hasbro US that. All this is done for the Australian market.

Yesterday, we brought you news that an exclusive English bio was being made for a limited australasian distribution of Takara Masterpiece Star Saber by Hasbro. Now, the same person who wrote the bio, Goktimus Prime, has revealed the cover art for the instruction booklet along with the description of changes the exclusive english booklet will have:

here's what the front cover art of the booklet looks like. This is the original Japanese version, not the adapted version. The main difference with the adapted one is that "Cybertron Commander Starsaber" is replaced with "Autobot Enforcer Star Sabre." And naturally the Japanese text down the bottom is translated to English.

If that's how you see it, great. I see it as a gross misuse of established and storied characters, stripping them down to something which is at best a parody of itself and at worst the removal of all interesting characteristics. Instead of destroying characters, how about making new ones? Expand the brand instead of destroying it's history. Furman made Xaaron, IDW made Rung, it can be done. Any character could have been created to become the 3rd rate religious zealot that Star Saber was turned into. The greatest swordsman in the universe with an adopted human child was not an Optimus Prime 'clone' as it was put, he was a real character, and a very interesting one. But I guess cannibalism is 'awesome'
