Not sure what you mean, but I've noticed that sites have differing photo's for some figures, bbts has these, they look like official pics from TT

I'm holding the Hasbro version up to that picture to compare, and they are not that different. Although that TT is executed much nicer. Cleaner lines and application.

TT doesnt care. They provide for the japanese market and that alone. If their distributors want to sell to the west, fine but they base their numbers mainly on the Japan market and TRU rarely gets a restock. It seems they are still going on the just in time business dynamics they developed (that some businesses in the west uses), which deals with limiting excess inventory, to reduce cost. That means that unlike Hasbro, every Takara product is far more limited by nature. Things rarely go on sale, which is why the Beast Hunters must have done really bad for their prices to still be this low. You can actually buy a Badura for less than 20$ !!

I am a big fan of getting the version a mold was made for. And while Scoop may not be as cool, he was made to be a perfect homage to G1 Scoop and it works beautifully. He is literally what the most diehard G1 fans want in a modern figure: the G1 fgure with better proportions and articulation. Sadly, they chose to spend all their efforts on Scoop of all characters. But I am not a one to knock hard work. It's probably the best example of how the generations line started changing by going straight up G1 rather than neo G1, which Devastator and the upcoming deluxe Headmasters are going for.

I think people care less because he is basically a reissue of a toy we got less than 5 years ago. Kinda like how no one cared either about the Frenzy and Rumble reissues (media-wise, personally I care more about those two than most other toys released this quarter).

So Black Shadow was previously released by Takara? I did not know that.
... and I was/am ecstatic about the re-release of Funble & Rennzle.

He wasnt, but I wasnt contradicting you. Japanese collectors import Hasbro figures when there is something they dont get so this is a takara issue of a figure Hasbro already released (hence my words rerelease) and also why it isnt that important to post pictures for people online (just like MP Prowl wasnt that important as a release for the online media).

Got'cha, probably because already got a release, and there was no noticeable differences; as to why none of the japnese sites put it up... maybe those who wanted it already imported it

While I get that, wouldn't they consider doing a second or third run on really big sellers? They don't have to make a huge amount, release, 100 preorder slots to a bunch of importers, then if they sell out, allot another set of preorders... I dunno, just seems like they could compromise and make everyone involved happy

I've never really had a huge love for the Black Shadow / Thunderwing moulds They are something that just sort of passed me buy I own them but they don't seem to be something that makes me want to return to them and play with them, not sure why it might be the joints not pleasing me over much - the way they stand isn't ideal - they have a tendency to want to do the splits of fall over - the small drone lacks as many storage options as I'd like.

I suspect I'd like them more if they were overscale KO's being bigger might fix some of the issues I have with them.

That said the newest 3rd party Thunderwing is kinda dreadful so by comparison to that they are passable.

I dont care for that mold much either but for me its because of the unoriginal and dull tarnsformation. The off white they use on thunderwing is also off putting to me.

I'm not sure exactly when it got released, but I know my Battle Grimlock preorder at HLJ, theoretically released on the same day in Japan, got processed much later than the other product that was supposedly released at the same time. Now it sits waiting on MP Tracks to allegedly come in on Friday.

In other words, very few on this side of the ocean may even have it in hand, and even then I'm not sure there's much excitement over it for reasons already mentioned in this thread.

I got Battle Grimlock the same day Blackarachnia, Rumble and Frenzy came out. My only complaint about him is his stoic expression, I don't know why none of his toys can manage to make him look as excited as he does on the show. Outside from that, He's a lot of fun.

Not really, these guys work in economies of scale. It would be pricey to have your factory stop what they are doing for a while and do a small set of a previously released toy. When that does happen (like with Botcon items), they are far more expensive.

Adventure Series Wave 8's release date was October 24th, so Black Shadow should be out there somewhere.
