Seems like the really high prices of some of these figures is driving a lot of people to import sites right now...
I am not sure they could afford that. They could potentially be losing preorders to others who do have it up earlier and all that for just the chance that it might be cheaper later.
What they should do instead is stock on yen when its low and then use it to buy these toys later but they probably dont have enough cash lieing around to do that either. In the end, I think the system they have in place is fine since its predictable and in the end, fans go to these import sites because they dont want to have to worry about importing it themselves so their core customers wouldnt try to import it themselves anyway.
Anyways, looking at the pic of the two of them side by side, I like what Hasbro did, I just wish they had a better grey plastic. Takara's legs are just so off in every which way.

Rumours say they are.

Though how that would work with TR Powermaster Prime is unknown...
...unless the rumored boxset that godbomber comes in has the Ginrai tooling

So either a box set with God bomber and ginrai? Or it could just be a standalone figure later down the TR line?

According to the list with rumored upcoming releases, these are the ones in a boxset:
- Fastlane
- Cloudraker
- Nautica
- Apex Bomber
- Quickswitch
- Pounce
- Wingspan
- Shockwave
- Tidal Wave
Two box sets if I may add. The name "Magnus Prime" has also been dropped, but details about it are unknown at this time. Also, names are subject to change.
Kurona wrote:Wait, what? Where did Shockwave come from?

Tidal Wave was listed twice, but with a different Chinese name each time. May as well use Armada Tidal Wave's Japanese name Shockwave to differentiate between the two.

Might want to mention that when you bring it up, considering the much more significant and well-known usage of the name Shockwave. I thought we were actually finally gonna get a Voyager G1-esque Shockwave from this line...

That depends on what you considered cheap. I pre-ordered him for $54 dollars, which is less than $10 bucks more than the msrp for Powermaster Prime.
I consider that a pretty good price.
Though at this point, it probably will be harder to find at that price.
what?
where?

It's hard to improve perfection, I'm sure.

After gettingChromedome, Skids, Arcee, BH GO! Soundwave and Wheelie recently I have just about to go mostly Takara versions from now on. The colours are almost always better/cartoon accurate and a big plus, the plastic seems better. Its got a more metallic, dense, heavy type feel that just makes for a better figure.
Moonshot wrote:Takara Astrotrain looks really sweet. Also God Ginrai looks so, so much better than Hasbro's Optimus. It is mainly that horrible brown gray that Hasbro uses, hate it. Takara uses that nice, almost metallic gray and the plastic seems like it feels better, heavier.
