You forget Cybertron Con, Hasbro made a HUGE deal of that last year and thats where we even had our first glimpse at Trypticon along with more reveals than what we saw at this year's toy fair (in terms of mainline gen figures).

I didn't forget about it, but I don't think being in China makes it a suitable replacement for SDCC and I'd like to think Hasbro knows that.
What you're forgetting is that Hasbro doesn't just do Transformers, but Cybertron Con is just a Transformers convention. Hasbro has Marvel movie figures and new Star Wars movie figures to promote among many other things and waiting until September at a family based con in Rhode Island is a terrible idea. HASCON is a nice idea for a supplemental con like BotCon, but as a full fledged replacement for their SDCC plans it's literally too little, too late.

We are speaking of 2 different things. I was mainly replying to you saying Hasbro was skipping the summer season, which would be innacurate if they went to the Cybertron Con, at least for TFs.
And a ton of big companies have chosen to leave the show. We see that in other fanbases too, with Nintendo not attending E3 sometimes to do their own thing instead.
The special edition Trypticon could still be sold at HASCON. in any case, as an international fan, none of this really matters, its not like it makes getting an exclusive harder or easier than before.
Anyways, more proof that the Takara version wont be that much different from the hasbro version for Trypticon, AE has put up their preorders (where LG Trypticon is only $150 USD, so the same price as the Hasbro one): http://www.anime-export.com/product/35111
And the pic they use is the render we already have. This never happened before for that class, so this tells me they are confident enough to put that up to give an idea to their clients of what to expect.

But have we seen it done for Titan? Or something this big and expensive?
Gelshark: Today I'm working here at the Tokyo Toy Show.
Caption: My name is Gelshark; I'm a Destronger who makes a living working part-time.
Human: For today's Transformer show, we'll have to request you to be the villain.
Gelshark: Henshin!
Gelshark: Aw, I don't like not being the lead, but I'll take it. (I need the performer's fee.) I might mistakenly defeat the hero, after all. (Hahaha.)
Gelshark: But I think another villain has appeared!
Black Convoy: Hahaha, I broke out of Cybertron's space prison and came to this world!
Black Convoy: I, the Destronger Dark Commander Black Convoy!
Black Convoy: I remodeled my body, bringing the flowers of evil to bloom!
Minor: Help me!
Gelshark: You're my old comrade, Black Convoy!
Black Convoy: Oh! Gelshark!
Black Convoy: What will you do? Will you cooperate with me?
Gelshark: That child came to see my show! (Although I'm the villain...)
Gelshark: The children here...
Gelshark: Do not touch them!
Black Convoy: Come along, Gelshark!
Black Convoy: Transform!
Gelshark: Return the child, Black Convoy!
Black Convoy: I won't, Gelshark!
Black Convoy: But I'll give you this! I stole from Cybertron's Vector Sigma...
Black Convoy: This Energon Matrix's power!
Black Convoy: Matrix Dead Maser!
Gelshark: Burnt!!
Black Convoy: It seems your skills haven't weakened.
Black Convoy: I came to pick you up today.
Minor: Gelshark-san!
Black Convoy: Come with me! Return to the stars to rescue Gigatron-tachi!
Gelshark: The one who saved my life, the Destronger leader Gigatron-sama!?
Black Convoy: Yes. His power is needed so I can conquer the universe.
Black Convoy: Hey, what are you doing? Let's go!!
Children: Gelshark-san, don't go...
Black Convoy: Well, then, onwards, Gelshark!
Black Convoy: In our universe, the flowers of evil shall bloom!
Crowd: Goodbye...

It's a hard G, rather than a soft G (i.e. "Ghell-shark" rather than "Jell-shark"). All of the beast-based Destrongers have names that begin with a hard G (Gigatron, Gelshark, Gaskunk, Gildor, Goosher). We don't really know why they have this pattern or what three of their names mean, but it is what it is.Black Hat wrote:That's hilarious. Based Sakamoto-Senpai strikes again!
(Though I will never understand what the hell "Gelshark" is supposed to mean. A shark made of gel?)

I highly doubt Takara will release everyone of these anyway.

Emerje wrote:Plus Takara Tomy hasn't officially announced Trypticon yet so most likely the images being used are just stand-ins. Now that I think about it, the CG images aren't really TT's thing, they'll show an unpainted or gray model prototype before they'll go that rout, right? Doesn't seem possible that TT would provide these to stores.

At the very least, that page does point out that the images are of CG renders instead of the finalized toy.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:Plus Takara Tomy hasn't officially announced Trypticon yet so most likely the images being used are just stand-ins. Well turns out they are TT provided. Takara has just revealed Trypticon with an article all to himself on Dengecki Hobby and the images are...
The same ones: http://hobby.dengeki.com/news/349470/
So yeah, Takara is officially using these as their way to unveil their Trypticon. Make of that what you will.

And the text descriptions accompanying each image reveal that the images are merely showing off the toy's features and gimmick rather than specific deco detail.
