Consequently, it also reduces any chances of Takara ever doing any kind of release of a Rebirth-accurate redeco of Fortress as Cerebros.Wolfman Jake wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Check it out, Spike's Cerebros head (which is a new face mold different from Hasbro Emissary's Cerebros head) has been color-matched to Takara Fortress's body.
I would honestly expect nothing less from Takara.

Cyberpath wrote:And finally -- Sixshot. Probably the one I was least excited about when I had pre-ordered the last batch. Maybe because he was the most expensive of the lot and appeared in only one scene, and he's basically just a gimmick -- i.e. his alt modes aren't "real" proper things, most of it is just his limbs arranged in different configurations.. wheels forward, wheels backwards, forearms to the side, to the back etc. But somehow, he turned out to be the most exciting in-hand!
I've had the original for years, it feels so refreshing and a little weird to finally have basically the same thing with proper articulation (the original was a BRICKKKK) and two guns (my G1 was missing a gun.) Although they look somewhat puny, the ones in the boxart look so much better. (Does anyone know where I can download free printable files for Transformers? Can even be generic guns/blades that fit the standard holes.)
As a Leader Class he towers all the Deluxes which suits me, because he was a Skyfire-type of giant in his one scene in Rebirth. And he fits pretty well with Ultra Magnus if I want Headmasters continuity.
I love that the Headmaster gimmick is optional here, wish that was the case with the Targetmasters. Although his Titan Master being a mini version of himself is kinda cute. (Didn't mention it before, but Misfire's TM also has nice paint.) Too bad he doesn't come with a miniature version of his gun-mode. And speaking of his gun-mode... I know they try to pass it off as a "submarine" but if you collapse the legs there's actually a trigger! (see one of the images.)
My favourite part of his transformation is how the chest-wing things are stored in his torso. Love the silver paint on his wings, hope the paint doesn't come off. So nice! (btw, do you think unpainted white plastic is still prone to yellowing?)
Surrender, Sixshot! The magnetic device I've placed on your chest will atomize you if you try to remove it without the proper pass-code -- which only I know.
You'll need a computer on par with Teletraan II working for days to crack the code! You may possess the superior firepower, but I possess the superior intellect. You're done.
Oh, this device you mean?
How?!?
Foolish Brainstorm, a true wise bot never underestimates his adversary. My mind is literally a super computer --
-- how else do you think I can keep up with six different forms --
-- without tripping on my own feet?
Also, my sophisticated brain allows me to calculate the probabilities of your attacks and evade them --
-- and at the same time, strike you down --
-- with a speed that beggar description!
Poor little Brainstorm.. you won't be "brainstorming" ever again!

(see attached image)
So kiddies, don't gift them kids below 15 this product or there'll be heck to pay.....Primus is watching!
To be a little fair, the Japanese cartoon deco of Slugslinger from The Headmaster did feature more toy-accurate details than Slugslinger's American cartoon model from The Rebirth had, so Takara's going by Headmasters cartoon-accuracy in turn resulted in some toy-accuracy at the same time, which was also the case for a lot of these Headmaster-accurate Legends figures since the Japanese cartoon models in general were largely more toy-accurate than the Rebirth models were.william-james88 wrote:It is interesting to note that while the Hasbro version (which we also included a review of or those interested in comparing) is usually meant to be more toy accurate, this Takara version does have very important features that the G1 toy had which the Hasbro version does not include such as the silver paint on the chest and the inclusion of a Target Master.
