That being the case, why settle for a repaint of a toy made for alpha trion (see above) and not just get the actual Lio Convoy instead?

In other words, this seems to be Takara's way of releasing the Alpha Trion mold in the Japanese market, apparently wanting it to not be Alpha Trion.

Is there a reason that Takara won't eventaully release this mold of Alpha Trion as Alpha Trion?
Did someone once say that they don't follow IDW comic?

I'm still holding out hope for e-Hobby to do Go Prime from this mold. They can't resist a black repaint of this, can they? Plus they get to use the Alpha Trion head.
If they're using the Voyager Optimus Prime head doesn't that mean they probably wont be releasing that figure either? Unless they intend to use the Titan Master single release head instead which may or may not look like Star Convoy as a Voyager Star Convoy. Then again they could be passing on Prime and Megatron in favor of Octane and Blitzwing.
I wonder how they plan on painting up Diac to fit Lio Convoy? He's going to look weird with a mouth, but I was thinking they could paint him like this:

Emerje wrote:That's not Diac? I honestly can't tell from such a small, blurry image. Seems strange using Infinitus for both Lio Convoy and ConvoBat (yes, I know, different fictions).

Lordy, I didn't even think of that. Rest in freakin' pieces.
Sabrblade wrote:Except for the fact that he's dead circa the time that all the Headmaster guys came from. They'd have to explain his being alive again with some kind of resurrection story (which they could do, but the fact that they'd have to do that means that he couldn't just show up on his own without that kind of newly-made explanation).william-james88 wrote:Bumblebee21 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Bumblebee21 wrote:will takara do megatron since the fusion cannon will most likely be for him and blitzwing would have his sword instead of the fusion cannon.
I'd say no because he's already represented in the line in the form of Galvatron's Titan Master Nucleon. Unlike the US portrayal, in the Legends manga he actually is Megatron, having popped out of his Leader Class body.
how would they put legends brawn in though
There is no problem with Brawn, he was never in the legends line yet.
In one of the most low quality animation error-laden episodes of the entire series, and in a scene that depicts him fighting alongside Huffer (who was confirmed to have been dead in "Dark Awakening") and Bonecrusher (a Decepticon), no less.RodimusRex wrote:Brawn appeared in Season 3.

Takara has always tended to treat animation errors as canon, haven't they?

Two words: mold repetition. TakaraTomy is doubling their efforts in avoiding that, while Hasbro does the opposite. Plus, Alpha Trion is already represented in the line by that Minimus Ambus redeco, and he's a relatively minor character there. If anything, a Legends Alpha Trin would be an exclusive.
And good eye to the one who noticed Lio Convoy uses Infinitus:

I wonder if Sovereign will be repurposed somewhere down the line.

Well, eHobby characters. For example the extra Constructicons.
