Best anyone can tell Sonic Bomber is a retool of Misfire. I'd put a tiny fractional chance on it being Blurr/Brainstorm.

Looking at pics, it looks like Misfire alright

Wow, I'm super excited for this. The best part is, by the time it comes out, I may actually have one of the 3 Legends figures on my want list that I'm currently behind one .

To say they forgot about victory Leo is a bit misleading as Star Saber wasn't planned from the get go anyway as he won that fan poll. He and Ultra Magnus (and hot rod now I think about it) were blips in what the mp line was doing at that point.

Saber and Leo are like Peanut butter and Jelly. Like GGinrai and GBomber. Takara should have followed through with the combo is all I'm saying.

Just like Takara forgetting to release Grandus and Skygarry when they released Starconvoy back in 2005.

It wasn't that they "forgot" Grandus and Sky Garry, but more that the Star Convoy reissue wasn't as successful a seller as Takara as hoped it would be. The lack success with Star Convoy's reissue simply led to no reissues for the other two.

The issue wasn't necessarily with the transformation. Ironhide has the proper potbelly that he and Ratchet should have, his legs are appropriately stocky. I'm not a fan of the non-streamlined look where the upper arms are in vehicle mode, but it's good enough for a deluxe figure. However, my in-hand opinion of the figure when he's not loaded up with Cog parts like he was when I saw him at SDCC might change my opinion, especially if his back is flat and flush with the back of his neck and head.

Shame that it's an EX release, as that's gonna make it super expensive for me to get :/ but will still preorder as soon as this goes up, there's no way I'm passing on this!

Yes. Star Saber was a special isolated case, even done by a completely different designer from whom was the main designer for the Masterpiece line at the time.

Had Super Ginrai, Dai Atlas, Super Fire Convoy, or any of the Unicron Trilogy Optimus Primes won instead, chances are likely that they too would have been made without their combining partners just as MP Star Saber is without an accompanying MP Victory Leo.

Because Legends God Ginrai wasn't a random poll winner decided by the fans. MP Star Saber, by comparison, was a wild card in the same way that Optimal Optimus was decided for the Power of the Primes line without any new Beast Wars Megatron toy to accompany him as his adversary.

Sonic Bomber is indeed made from Misfire, Road Fire from Twin Twist, but Dai Atlas is where the bulk of the new parts ended up. Sky Shadow is where the reused parts stem from, the wings and the tank (note how it's reversed), but not the turret! I do suspect Dai Atlas will not split like his mold predecessors did.

Finally, you "Dai Atlas from Overlord/Sky Shadow" folk can rejoice, congrats.

I have the Kabaya kits, quite fun little guys. Little, yes (barely past Legion size), but perfect with limited shelf space. Speaking of size, the Legends release does pose some size discrepancies between the members, with Sonic Bomber and Roadfire as Deluxes, being dwarfed by the Leader Dai Atlas

I still think it could have happened in a Titan s Return boxset: just as a straight redeco rather than a near-complete reshell over the internal transformation skeleton as we see here.

I can see where/how Sonic Bomber and Dai Atlas comes from. Still squinting on how Roadfire and Topspin/Twintwist turns.

Edit( Some of Snakas' shot won't appear but it is much clearer now on Roadfire)

Hopefully, that clamping on the Overlord mode is made more secure where the SR71 carries the tank as the undercarriage.

Still covering the 58th All Japan Hobby Model Show, a couple of Japanese outlets - such as the Snakas blog and toy bloggers on Twitter like Dory - have provided us with extra images of the briefly revealed Big Powered in the Takara Tomy LG-EX (the same monicker as the exclusive Legends figures that have already been released too) line.

As a refresher, and a late addition to the previous story, Big Powered appears to use components from Overlord/Sky Shadow and Twintwist, all from Titans Return / Legends. So not quite a whole new mold, but still some unique potential mold reuses, straight out of Transformers Zone as the combined vehicle form of Cybertron Powered Masters Dai Atlas, Sonic Bomber, and Roadfire. Check out the new angled images mirrored below!

What I really mean is it's just 4 toys getting stacked on top of each others. It's a very lazy and pointless design. I can do this myself with anything lying around. There is no streamlining, nothing integrate. I love big combined ships. But this is not a combination. It's a stack of junk.

You know, it would be cool if the new Dai Atlas retained Overlord/Sky Shadow's ability to split the jet and tank components apart, and then have the new Sonic Bomber able to combine with the jet and the new Roadfire combine with the tank to form new separated versions of Sky Powered and Land Powered that could coexist with each other at the same time, instead of how the original toys could only do one or the other but never both since Dai Atlas was originally one single vehicle rather than two separate ones like he could possibly be now.

As is, however, the images instead look like Sonic Bomber attaches to at least just the tank part and Roadfire the jet part rather than vice versa being another option.

That's definitely a cockpit in that gun so these probably will still remain Headmasters. This is Legends after all so it fits their story.

I ont really undestand why it wouldnt split. Dont we see the jet on top of the tank in these pics? So then its already split no?
