Not even for that bad ass Voyager Scorn?
Or Leader Megatron?

And why are people saying this news is unexpected? Metroplex, Devastator, and Fort Max were all released nearly simultaneously between the two companies.

To me at least the unexpected (or somewhat surprising in some way) part is that he is specifically LG43, meaning there will be no other Legends releases until him.
And the fact that it will be released as still part of the Legends line, rather than a part of a successor to the Legends line, is also newsworthy as it means that Legends isn't over yet despite the apparent hiatus that it looks to be taking after Godbomber.Kurona wrote:Emerje wrote:Metroplex from both Takara and SDCC came with a second gun. william-james88 wrote:With only a couple of revealed toys left to be released in the Takara Transformers Legends line, fans were wondering when we would get new reveals or if Takara would retire the line and release toys under a new line. Well, we finally have an indication that the line will continue. A listing on Action Robo's facebook page shows us that the next release is LG 43 Trypticon. Trypticon is listed with an MSRP of 25000 yen, which is the same price point as the previous Titan figures released in Japan. So expect this figure to be sold for about 18700 Yen ($170 USD) at Japanese stores and closer to his MSRP ($225 USD) at importers.
Action Robo also states that the release date is end of August,2017.

Megatron at least looks like he might be worth it THIS time (as opposed to the collywobbled messes he was in most of the other movies). But him? I can wait for. Having been disappointed many times by the Bayverse figures already, I can live with them coming out later, if it means Trypticon comes out sooner

But Death, dont reviews of movie roys generate more viewings due to the popularity of the films? I thought movie toys would be welcomed by toy reviewers.

Why? Takara's Devastator came with retooling, individual weapons and the face switch. The SDCC version didnt. Meaning its just as likely for some extra parts to be Takara exclusive and not offered with the SDCC version.
EDIT: Also, Emerje, you forget a very important point: Hasbro is not attending SDCC this year.

Has this been confirmed now? I thought it was only speculation before, based on their message about "September in Rhode Island" after Toy Fair.

Wasn't that for HASCON?

Gonna use maybe Skytread and Hasbro Clobber as Overlords chest titanmasters. Think I may put a few of the others on ebay if anyone is interested. Awesome news about Trypti, maybe Takara will do something extra.

You know, SDCC has become just as much a Hollywood expo as it is for comics. I kinda doubt Hasbro would miss a chance to plug the movie to a primarily Sci-fi Fantasy audience.william-james88 wrote:Emerje wrote:It makes no sense for them to entirely bypass the entire summer con season like that. You forget Cybertron Con, Hasbro made a HUGE deal of that last year and thats where we even had our first glimpse at Trypticon along with more reveals than what we saw at this year's toy fair (in terms of mainline gen figures).
You could have the figure available at that show as n exclusive and then sell it to the US on HTS.
Hasbro has been favouring Asia a lot lately. That TLK Leader Prime evil version is an Asia exclusive.
