This end of the month deluxe groove thing you keep saying confuses me. Is that the release date in Canada or something? Because online places here in the UK had him on May 1st.

Aaah, OK. That makes sense. Not exactly may madness though if it's out at the end. Would thought most places got him released around the same time for something like that.

I literally just said yesterday how I'd love to see a Takara Sky Reign because it could potentially have new characters.
Still... the fact Bluestreak is immediately not possibly makes me sad. Though unlike Wheeljack, Hound and Trailbreaker he doesn't have new tooling. Ratchet would make sense yeah because new tooling and also he's a 1984/Season 1 Autobot Car unlike Smokescreen.

It's most likely to be Sky Lynx, Hound, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, and Ratchet since they're all retools that Japan hasn't gotten yet.

And that would actually make sense, as UW releases tend to alternate between good guys and bad guys. Not that I'm saying TakaraTomy would, just saying it would make sense for them to do so.

I said "tend", not that they do that all the time. Bruticus and Computicon still do the "bad guy then good guy" thing, but Sky Lynx may break that.

Pretty sure thats what its gonna be. It will be a good chance for people to get the ratchet toy without having to pain him yourself

Hasbro Defensor: I wasnt gonna pay extra for false exclusivity. And knowing that we would get the groove mold eventually, I just waited. A year later, its gonna pay off

Ratchet definitely seems likely tbh. He was a pre-tooled head rather than just being made specifically for a convention. And the rest will likely be the same as Wave 6 because again, Wheeljack, Hound and Trailbreaker are toolings Japan don't have yet. It also happily means they'll all be Season 1/1984 guys rather than randomly having Smokescreen from 1985.

^ I wouldn't mind that actually, then I could get this set, and just have CW Smokescreen as a stand alone. I do the "opposite" of May Madness. I just get the UW sets, and have the CW "oddities" (Rook, Offroad, Alpha Bravo) as extras.

They don't have the Hound and Wheeljack head toolings just like we don't have the Starscream and Thrust heads but we have thier body molds here.

If FunPub is anything to go by, they used a Hoist head for a character using the Offroad shell of the tooling, not First Aid. It's entirely possible that Hoist is the alternate head for the added Trailbreaker parts.

So I was just thinking about what heads (not body toolings just heads) Takara's Unite Warriors do not have so here is a list that should be almost accurate correct me on any mistakes I make please.

Wheeljack head (Probably will be released in this set)

Hound head (Probably will be released in this set)

Trialbreaker head and body mold (Probably will be released in this set)

Ratchet head (Probably will be released in this set) not used in the CW line

Battle Core Optimus Prime head

Combiner Wars Strafe Head and Body mold

The currently unused Demolishor head from Onslaught not used in the CW line

The head sculpt that Toxitron uses is an alternate head for Motormaster not used in the CW line

The Counterpunch head is an alt head for the Wheeljack mold that was not used in the CW line

I also heard that there is an alt Hoist head for either the Trailbreaker mold or the basic Offroad mold correct me if I'm wrong.

Is the head of Voyager Battle Core Optimus and regular Optimus different? I haven't examined them both up close. If so, that makes me even more glad I purchased BC at Wal-Mart yesterday since I am getting UW-05 any day now. Also which mold did e-hobby use for Grand Scourge's head (Standard Optimus or Battle Core?)

Battle Core's head has an additional crest, making it an homage to Star Convoy. Grand Scourge uses the standard Prime head. Up to now, Combiner heads have not been switched out, so they all sport the same head for the Combined Mode.

Yup which is why I use my Battle Core Prime as my poor mans Nova Prime.

I'm excited at the prospect of getting Ratchet through UW - Sky Reign, since I completely missed out on him with the BotCon exclusives this year. However, I'm a little disappointed that Takara isn't (yet) taking a stab at Smokescreen, so all we're left with is the rather lackluster (in robot mode) Hasbro version. Maybe Takara will surprise us in the future with another new combiner that gives us some more "obvious" retool/repaints like Sideswipe, Hoist, and Bluestreak, possibly with a their own version of Smokescreen for good measure. Also, here's hoping that Takara fixes the tooling for Trailerbreaker's gun hand. It's on the wrong side, damnit! How did they get that wrong!?

Sorry, sort of off topic here, but last night I was watching Guardians of the Galaxy, it dawned on me that Hasbro might have a hard time getting a trademark on the name "Nova Prime". As there is a character named that in that movie. Kind of a bummer.

I WAS playing with Grand Galavatron while I was watching, so HEY, look at at that , back on topic!
