The problem is, in order to easily add content (and modify existing content) you need a well organised, laid out and planned piece of code. This game is anything but that. There's variables and values all over the place if what we've been told is true, and that makes changing and improving the game *very* difficult, possibly to the point where OS was right, it really is easier to write a new game.

But that isn't the real problem. The real problem is Ryan's insistence that a new game will be quick to write/test/implement.... That and programmers insisting on having a life... lol

The game will never be 'balanced' as its PvP. Ill conceed the one about the stats though, but the point is that the pressure to rewrite a new game whilst this one is so obviously incomplete is what breaks the programmers. Get this looking suitable shiny and then the pressure is off.

The way I see it, add a warmap to conquer/defend and give the players an achieveable (and repeatable) win condition, and then the game becomes less of a grind and more like an online game. At that point 99% of people will forget about V2 and get back to basics.

The current Autobot Savior supports this idea. I think that Hippy Kid with the brass sack will too.

A warmap could be added as a normal page here and only needs to draw on the mission results in a definable way - i.e. it doesnt actually have to be coded into the game itself, just capable of reading and interpreting the results to any given mission.
So, all it needs to be is a larger graphical version of the current mission counter at the top of the registry that either: filters wins by mission #, like we do in tourneys (e.g: missions ending in 0=Kaon, 1=Iacon, 2=Tyrest etc.) or uses a clone of the special toruney missions code to label them as warmap misisons and recording the results (if doing it the hard way).

Remember the Warmap chess we all played a few years back?

That's true. And it certainly could (should) work, for a short term fix. But it's a very sloppy and slapdash fix (which would fit into the current game programming rather well), which would only need one poorly chosen modification to the game code to be rendered utterly useless.

Bloody pessimists.
This entire game has been a short-term fix for the last 5 years, a modification like this will either save the universe or divide it by zero.

Either way it will give the game some kind of goal - image us and the AWC warring over a zone, or actually having the cons obvious superiority visible in red and blue for all to see...
An actual win condition might also get some of those Arena dwellers out into the sunlight too.

I think the first new feature of HMW 2.0 is to make the game not bore me to tears. If the game wasn't boring as Hell more people would play it. Oh and if it were stable enough not to have a complete nuke or reset accidentally happen three times a year.

All these games are what the users make of them. You can program this game to represent almost anything, but if there isn't a community to enjoy it with and to build up the lore with, then it;s just a tedious text based grinding exercise. In the past this game really excelled at this, but thanks to many mistakes made by various people, it's lost that. At the moment this forum's very spammy, and that makes the forums a lot more fun, but hopefully it'll lead to more ingame community building too, which will help the game become more interesting.

Eh, you have a point. If the Autobots didn't hide in their private pillow fort and actually posted I probably wouldn't have gotten so bored. None of them trash talk. None of them post. It's like they don't know how to have fun. Not even the girls. And Girls Just Want To Have Fun.

To bad. I'm starting a OBGYN practice in Iacon. I receintly graduated top of my class, magna cum laude, from University of Latvia. I apprenticed under the good Doctor, who also happened to be the head master of the U of L, and oddly, ruler of the country. 8)

Dr. Doom is from Latveria, not Latvia. I know, he used to let me kick it there before Asgard moved to the skies above Chicago. Also before the batshit insane Superman Sentry destroyed the whole damn thing and killed me. I'm still bitter about a proxy Clark Kent killing me after I had solidified myself as a bad ass. If you're reading this Joey Q, I'm the one responsible for your donuts tasting like feces, but given the way you eat I really doubt you noticed you half witted lummox.

not really doubtful, considering the minimum lvl 1 build only requires 10k xp. but it could also come down to the time of day and there are those who prefer the arena to missions don't forget.

So your telling me that all the level 0 'Cons conspired together to level up all their soldiers to level 1 at the same time. Nah they couldn't be that cooridinated :P

I thought it would have been time of day as well but I was on all day yesterday and it was still happening. Which is funny because usually around mid-late afternoon is when the 'Cons would show up in numbers, but yesterday, nothing.
