Personally, I wouldn't want it being touched on in the movies.
Why?
Because most Hollywood writers are ignorant and unimaginative.
I've always rejected the Quint Origin as being far too base and unimaginative. " Robots are built, durrr, so who built them?" I can see why they thought that way, but it's very inside the box thinking.
The Primus origin is indeed noble, but its also metaphysical and thus religious.
No, instead I think Transformers evolved to be what they are. That shouldn't be hard to accept. They are an alien life form that came about by processes we are not really familiar with.
They appear mechanical as that is their biology. They represent a truly alien life form.
What I am worried about is that if there are Quints or any kind of builders of transformers they will be biological. Some slimy reptilian something.
I find that dull and completely typical.
I'm hoping that this line is just a lie told by Lockdown to manipulate Prime.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

I've always preferred a Quintesson origin story for Transformers.
I've always held to the idea, based on the original G1 cartoon, the Quintessons were galactic arms dealers. Their factory (Cybertron) became self-aware (Primus, like a benevolent Skywatch), and as it realized the Quintessons were building war machines for the conquest and subjugation of populations, Primus/Cybertron granted sentience to it's creations (the Autobots & Decepticons) to overthrow the Quintessons and free their conquered civilizations. Only problem was the Decepticons (the military product line), now that they possessed free will, retained the Quintessons war-like and imperialistic tendencies, while the Autobots fought for freedom.
I know there's not much in official canon to back that up, and it's totally riffing of a small amount of info provided by the G1 cartoon, but it's the story I spin in my own head for my own enjoyment. I would love it if the movie universe took cues from the original G1 cartoon and had shades of this origin story as well. I know that would probably make some people unhappy though... I guess to each his own and that's why they call it a "personal canon".
I still wish they'd address what the Transformers use as a power source though... since the Allspark's been gone, do they need Energon? Where are they getting it from on Earth???

I'd be happy with an Origin like this.

Sabrblade wrote:Regarding "they vs. he", Optimus also says the line "They want to destroy us," in this trailer. I italicize the word "They" not merely to draw attention to it, but because of how Optimus speaks it. He doesn't merely say "They want to destroy us," but rather he emphasizes it as "They want to destroy us," as though he directly calling out a specific group of enemies rather than just any old enemies.
Regarding "Primus vs. Quints vs. Atechnogenesis" origins, I'm surprised barely anyone here has even brought up the most important thing in this matter: The AllSpark. That cube was already established as the source of all Cybertronian life, so by inserting some new creator(s) into the issue, that rewrites a crucial aspect of the AllSpark's role in the Movieverse lore.
Regarding an "evil Alpha Trion", really guys? People were already upset of DOTM making Sentinel Prime evil. Ya'll really want them to do the same to an even more revered and respected father figure of Optimus? And we already got that character in Shattered Glass Alpha Trion anyway.
He's fighting Galvatron when Lockdown guns him down. But when he says "Who sent you here?" Optimus is lying on a civilian car.william-james88 wrote:I know this is a dumb question but I keep asking myself who Optimus is on top of when he gets hit by Lockdown's gun face in the trailer. Didn't you watch the movie? All the other Primes died except for The Fallen because they sealed The Fallen away and they sacrificed themselves to hide the Matrix in their tomb.Megatron Wolf wrote:Would be better & more interesting if they were the other primes, the fallen was still around so why not others?

I also thought of that, but it makes sense that he would be saying it to Prime. If he was saying it to Galvatron, that means at some point Galvatron becomes sentient and of his own will, instead of being controlled by humans.
