This will probably not be the cutscene we get when Reactivate finally comes out but it gives a sense of the kind of game it is and its budget. More importantly, it reveals what the generic enemy is. It is a swarm of nanobots from space that can take the form of one eyed enemies. When that form is killed, the nanobots disperse to reform into another enemy at a later time. That’s the storytelling behind the gameplay loop to explain the endless enemy fodder.

I can’t imagine this game will be anything but. Season passes. Wildly overpriced skins. Shooter with vague TF skin. Of course I could be wrong, but the history of attempts at these online TF games does not inspire hope.
All I (we?) want is a single player open-world space/combat/base builder
sim where I can play as a fully customized character, on both an Autobot and Decepticon campaign.

That’s exactly what this is.
As soon as its confirmed, I’ll make a news article with the words “live service” in the headline

Sounds like you want Fallout 4 with a TF theme.

Not quite, perhaps something more comparable to Outer Worlds? Different gameplay, Devastation-like 3rd person perspective and movement. A starship that acts as a hub/base to travel between different worlds like Earth, Nebulos, etc. would be cool to assemble a custom combiner team. I could go on and on.
What WOULD be nice, is some more info on Reactivate in general. Another trailer or some gameplay, anything. But we’ll see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ugh....
At the very least, the toys will be cool.
Too bad the times of the stellar Activision games are long gone.

Having looked around on other websites/social media, it's kinda crazy how the opinion on Jon Bailey and other Peter Cullen impersonations have turned around in the last few years, back in say the 2010's people thought impersonations were cool and such or at least had less of a pushback as they do now.
Not that Jon's a bad VO, his Shockwave/Soundwave in Bumblebee were great and I'll always adore his portrayal of the Council Spokesman in Xcom Enemy Unknown/Within and Xcom 2. Although it seems people are especially touchy on Optimus Prime voices that aren't original takes like Garry Chalk or David Kaye.

At least with Jon, I think some of the backlash lately comes from what happened with Cullen's treatment by Travis Knight, his support of NFTs, and then his support of currently problematic Tara Strong

Any artists who are considered "problematic" by oversensitive people are doing it right. However, supporting NFTs is deserving of a one way ticket to Hell.

I would argue Tara Strong is not even remotely doing it right, but sure.
Also, the Travis Knight thing is the reason Cullen actually hates Jon.

The way the story seems to have fallen, Travis Knight was not going to use Peter Cullen in Bumblebee, but then he got really upset, or someone got really upset on his behalf, and then it was found that he actually despises people impersonating his version of Prime, and when he did record, something happened with Knight to make him more pissy.
I am not 100% sure on those details, but that is general outline I've gathered.

"it is highly anticipated and I know that fans are waiting for it to come out and be released. Hopefully in 2025, we will have more to show"
So we should expect nothing for the rest of the year. But the game is still coming out.

But I do wish the game succeeds for those that's into live-service games so Hasbro have the incentives to come out with more figures, and then I'll probably dip into the line.

I wonder how Hasbro feels about this, surely it's had an impact on their plans for 2024 and 2025.

As for the figures, they were only mid IMO. Not because of their looks, but because they were all fiddly to transform.
Let's wait and see how the rest develop.

I agree with this, though I can't comment on the released toys, to expensive for me, 70/80 euro's for a 2 pack is just, too much for characters I have 100 versions of already.
That live service nonsense model is absolute trash. Just make 1 good game, if it sells, which means people like the product, then make an addon or sequel. Not this whole buy a 70-120 dollar game, that's stripped to sh*t. The game will have like 3 different enemies, extremely repetitive uninspired missions set in a dead and empty world. And the "Season pass" which is just a curse word in my book, will consist of recolors and more of the exact same.
I hope I'm wrong since I want a new Transformers game. I played WFC and FOC to death and need something new .
Guys, imagine this: Elden Ring but with Transformers. (and I don't even care if it's 90% melee and 10% shooting)

The footage is from the tutorial area. It is also important to remember that the game has been massively reworked since so it may look very different from this once eventually released.

Check it out, it's a classic!

Now that I think about it, yes, but seeing them in gameplay immediately reminded me of those Decepticlones that would neutralize your weapons then use wrestling moves on you in the PS2 Armada game.First-Aid wrote:Was anyone else getting ROTB Apelinq vibes from some of those targets?

But I can’t help thinking about the original beast wars PlayStation game. Like that one, It feels like they just dropped the transformers, brand and character models into a game that has nothing to do with transformers.
It’s missing all of the characterization, voices, plot, and lore that come with the franchise… All of the things that put heart and emotion and gravitas into a show or game. While I think it would be fun to play, I can’t help, but hope for another game on the horizon that is more in the lines of devastation or fall of Cybertron that will have me cheering for the characters I love and draw me into the story.

Honestly, we don't know near enough about it to say it's missing those things. This is gameplay only, after all. What else do we know about this? Honestly, jack squat. We don't know the story. We don't know the characterizations. All we know is the figures we've gotten and this walkthrough with what may be a temporary voice actor.

william-james88 wrote:While there won't be any updates for Transformers Reactivate until at least next year, something pretty cool has dropped. TFReaper has uploaded leaked gameplay footage of the game from 2020. It gives us an idea of the third person angle this game has along with the how the transformation gimmick is implemented along with what the enemies are. And we see that Bumblebee design that we are now very familiar with due to the toys.

Nice mix between High Moon Cybertron third person shooting and Devastation combat. Shame this isn't in the 40th anniversary while that one budget friendly racing combat game took its spot (if intended)
