The only thing Nemean has over Leo Dux, IMHO, is the tail. Wish MMC had designed a nice looking tail like that (though it may just be a rip off of the PRID Thundertron tail?).

Yes looking more like a hasbro transformers design than an original 3P design but if hasbro were pushing this out i would probably not be buying the MMC offering.

Well, yea - if Hasbro were actually offering a Classics Predaking, I think people would throw their money at it, because they would have to throw less of their money at it

Of course the money would be more of the selling point than the figures if hasbro did this it would be interesting to see were it left UT and MMC in sales(clearly UT in the ****) and just to see if design is everything or if nobody would actually give a **** and just think of saving money, not to say these arn't good designs but thinking for a minute there i would still splash out on Feral rex

Just look at the Year of the Snake Omega Supreme for an example. Planet X brought us Genesis, a far superior, waaaaay more accurate version of WfC Omega Supreme, but Hasbro's cheap repaint still did quite well in sales it seems (based on reading the boards here) and stole a lot of Genesis' thunder simply because the Hasbro repaint was 'good enough' for some people and because Genesis was so expensive.

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.

I don't know I like Hasbro's "Cheap" repaint much more then I like Genesis. Granted I use it for Classics rather the WFC and FOC. I think Maketoy's Add on (Whenever that's avilable) will make it that much better as well.

I think he meant cheap as in less costly, not cheap as in less quality.

Precisely. That, and it was inexpensive (comparatively speaking) for Hasbro to produce. Around $300 for a third party Omega Supreme is a lot of money to drop. I did it, but I wonder how many more would have if the Year of the Snake Omega had never been made.
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm going to be getting both sets. TFC's look better individually to me. If their combined mode really outshines MMC's, I might just cancel on getting MMC but I still want to give them the benefit of the doubt.Sodan-1 wrote:Oh 'ek! Somebody stick on some Natalie Imbruglia, because I'm properly torn. I'm actually quite liking the look of these individual figures. They're looking like quite serious warriors, while the Ferocicons by comparison are looking kind of fat.

The more I see the more I like TFC's version, just wish they'd try to compete with MMC's prices.

Holy crap that beast mode looks awesome in color
Yeah, no regrets about my preorder.
Now come on TFC, show us some combined mode pics please so I can decide if MMC still gets any money from me or not.

TFC pros: no fat legs, great gestalt size, nice looking beast modes, compatible with previous combiner teams.
TFC cons: Razorclaw is massive when compared to the others, price.
MMC pros: great gestalt size, nice looking beast modes, individual bots scale well together, early bird specials.
MMC cons: fat legs, not compatible with my other combiner teams.
In the end it is a tossup between price and TFC's sorta scramble city gimmick, with Nemean's greater size when compared to this team mates tipping me over the edge in MMC's favour atm.

Also, given the overall size, and apparently the connectors being the same size as PCC, I worry about how well this is going to hold up. Herc's limb connectors were either much beefier than PCC or there were multiple connections (torso to hips).
I also would like to see how TFC is going to do the arm gun and sword. I don't recall those pics at the moment (though it is early and I haven't had any caffeine yet...)
If this had been announced before MMC, or if MMC's wasn't around, I likely would have been all over this.
Of course, we could be looking at the "Free Choice Paradigm" here too. Check out this Ted X Talk if you want to see what I am talking about. (The whole 20 minutes is awesome, but what I am talking about, that is relevant here, starts at about the 9:40 mark.)

That's the unfortunate trade off. Ares is looking to be better proportioned with Razorclaw being massively bigger, while Feral Rex is very bulky and the bots are all a similar size. Can make for some difficult decisions on which to buyStormrider wrote:TFC Razor Claw has a good design but he is massive compared to his team mates.

Nemean looks GREAT in color, but the size thing does eat at me. I don't mind if the team is out of scale with my other Classics dudes, but really, the teammates should be roughly the same.
I'm sticking with MMC for now, although Nemean is tempting. If all goes well (for me) and the TFC set goes on clearance in 2 years... yea, I'll pick em up
