Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Onto. ^_~ Wouldn't the Doc notice another blue box? Or detect another TARDIS?
Into, onto ... chameleon circuit still in effect.
As for detection, or lack of, there could be reasons for that. He could have those systems turned off as there's no need for them, or the other Tardis could be shielded from detection. The Master's Tardis was a newer version.
Of course i'm probably wrong, but it's how i'd like to see things go down. Though after watching the first season of Life on Mars i'm finding it hard to imagine a nice guy like John Simm playing The Master.

I really liked this episode. Of course, I'm a high school teacher, and seeing the doctor in a world similar to mine always gets me interested. I'm still waiting for the lottery ticket to be slipped under my door so I can retire. Unfortunately, I'm an English teacher.
This episode also reminded me of the "Ravenloft" DnD games my buddy used to run when we were high school students: lots of mind and identity games and situations where the strengths we'd worked so hard on proved woefully inadequate.
Here's a query: How much of the Doctor has gotten into that kid? Is he simply perceiving the memories or is he absorbing the identity?

I think the kid is just seeing memories. Perhaps he just has some kind of sixth sense. After all, Doc intended Martha to open the watch, so if it made whoever was holding it into a Time Lord, that meant Martha would become one.

Well I think with Martha being the one to open it she was suppose to open it in front of him.
I wouldn't be suprised if that kid is some how tied to Saxon.

Well I did like this episode better than the last one. I'm rarely a fan of "past" episodes, but I did like John Smith in this one.
Also according to this, Torchwood starts up again in Septemper around the same time as the season finale of Dr Who. Should be interesting to see if they decide to tie the series together.

I found it to be quite anti-climatic really.
The only thing I liked about it was a look at The Doctor's dark and vengeful side.
But this whole "big bad scare every bad guy in the known universe" is starting to build him up a little too much. Even when Gallifrey and the other Time Lords were around he never was like that, now suddenly he's on his own and he's the universes answer to Chuck Norris?

Liked this one better than last week. Though I can't help but think they have screwed over the character of Martha. Up till the end of the Daleks ep, she proved herself an asset and she could handle herself. But since then, she just turns into a useless lump waiting for the doc to help her out.
As for the big bad guy in the universe, I'm sure Saxon will quickly put him in his place.

Aye, building him up to take him down.
Also, it'll give Saxon a justification for hunting the Doctor. "Saxon good, Doctor bad" kind of thing, like he's pulling on Martha's mum.

hmmm Doctor bad, "Master" good .... gee, they've never done that before in DW.
And yes, you can all point and laugh at me if he doesn't turn out to be The Master.

What on Earth are you watching? She held the family of blood at gun-point, when they all had her captive in the first place!

So, is there to be another Doctor Who season after this? How is it doing over there in its homeland? Will we be looking at another regeneration soon, or will this one stick around? How about Martha?

Season 2008 is confirmed, as is both Tennant and Freema. Whether they're there for the full season hasn't been said. I'd still love to see a mid-season regeneration.
Anyone think it's time to add a second companion? Wasn't unusual for the Doctor to travel with two or more companions.

Absolutely time. Enough with the doctor-assistant romantic tension. Doesn't Martha get that she's the rebound girl?
How about an overly cute alien child from the future? (Who can later die tragically?) Or a robot cat?
Who would you like for an additional assistant?
Anything but another cutie to mope after the Doctor...
however...
that could be interesting, too.

Could always go with a male off-sider.
Though they tend to not turn out too well.
Jamie's probably a recovering alcoholic.
Turlo's no doubt still a wanker.
Benton and Harry are probably locked up in a retirement home reminiscing about the time they were captured by the Zorgons.
And we won't mention Adric ...

Yes, she does- it's quite evident from her dialogue. She's not even his rebound girl- she's his companion, and his relationship with her is purely platonic.

I tend to like the two-parter stories... reminds me of the cliffhangers from the original series.
... of course I didn't see those cliffhangers until I started getting the original series on DVD
Speaking of, which of these DVDs would you guys recommend getting? I plan to eventually have all (or nearly so) of the original series on DVD. Tom Baker was always my favorite so I'll definitely be getting all of his stories as time marches on.
City of Death
Earthshock
Ghost Light
Horror of Fang Rock
The Ark in Space
The Caves of Androzani
The Claws of Axos
The Curse of Fenric
The Dalek Invasion of Earth
The Green Death
The Invasion
The Leisure Hive
The Lost in Time Collection
The Seeds of Death
The Sontaran Experiment
The Talons of Weng-Chiang
The Three Doctors
The Tomb of the Cybermen
The Two Doctors
Vengeance on Varos
The Web Planet
Inferno
Visitation

Yeah. Because she couldn't convince Smith who he truly was. And after that, she turned back into a blubbering wreck. I liked it when she did that at the opening, but she went back to moping about the doc. And before she did that, she hadn't done anything but be a blubbering mess since the Daleks. Still, perhaps she'll pick herself up when a handsome travelling immortal turns up.

That was a fun little episode.
I'm waiting for you Love and Monsters haters to jump up and down about it though.
But it was one of those fun little stories they need before a big one.

Oh my god!
Dudes. I haven't watched Dr Who since Peter Davidson played him in the 80's, but recently while off work sick I watched the first episode of season 3 with David Tennant and 'Martha', it was amazing! I then watched reruns of the whole of season 2 with 'Rose', and it was amazing too!
This morning I watched the 2 episode season finale, where the Daleks battle the Cybermen and Rose gets trapped in a parallel universe and it was better than any movie I have seen for years.
Russel T Davies is a friggin genius and I am a confirmed Dr Who fan again. Now I must watch all the epsisodes from 2005 onwards.

A lot of people shed tears over it actually.
If you'd watched all of the two seasons you'd probably still be wailing.
Look at War Hammer (well don't actually look at him, you'll go blind, and no he can't send you back in time either when you don't look at him), he's hardly been around since Rose left.
