OMG!

That was a cracking episode, I'm still trying to pick my jaw up from the floor.

Aw the regeneration scene was sinister with Simm's eyes glowing with evil.

I totally geek gleed at the voices of Roger Delgado coming from the professor's watch.
:D

The last 4 eps of this series have been the best!

One thing that never added up but finally did.

When people heard about "Mister Saxon." they re-arranged the words and got "Master No. Six" but it only ever added up to 5, until the Professor regenerated which makes John Simm the sixth Master.

Well, John Simm would actually be the seventh when you count the Master's incarnation on Skaro during the TVM.

It's really to do with the bodies rather than the actors who have played the Master.

Master No One - Roger Delgado 1971 - 1973

Master No Two - Peter Pratt/Geoffrey Beevers 1976/1981

Master No Three - Anthony Ainley 1981 - 1989

Master No Four - Eric Roberts 1996

Master No Five - Derek Jacobi 2007

Master No Six - John Simms 2007

The TVM master is between master No. Three and No. Four, although it's never cleared up if he's Ainley's master or a new one (and he doesn't even have a goatee to complicate matters).

So it's pretty much up for discussion on what's what :-?

Anyway, I'm glad the Master is back.

Well the last we saw of Ainley's Master (Sorry John Simm, but you'll never live up to Ainley or Delgado) he was slowly turning into a cat. So we can only assume that it was still Ainley's Master that was executed.

Wonder if they'll explain how he got out of the Eye of Harmony though ...

Well, there's many fans on outpost Gallifrey who think that the Timelords scooped him up and gave him a new set of regenerations if he agreed to fight in the Time war.

Although it seems that he bailed and went into hiding.

Was the Eye of Harmony what he was trapped in at the end of the 96 movie? Whatever happened, it was before the end of the Time War. That much was stated.

Anyway...

HELL OF A CLASS EP!!

The action, pacing, timing, and Jack back in full force. A fantastic ending and it explained how Jack was on Earth during that 1915 incident he mentioned in Torchwood. And there were more than a few laugh out loud moments between Jack and the doc.

Although, there did seem to be a little continuity disruption between the end of Torchwood and this ep.

The Tardis never appeared inside the Hub, so what blew those papers around? Also, how did Jack hear the Tardis landing when he was inside?

My theory is Jack had audio linked to the outside designed to trigger when it detected the Tardis landing. And he could have quickly thrown that hand jar into the bag on his way out the escape route.

Though the comment about 'I've missed this' running around chasing people. Did the journey through the vortex mess up his memory? What did he think he was doing in Torchwood, chasing fairees? Oh, wait, he was.

Thoroughly looking forward to the next ep (missed the teaser at the end so I have no idea what to expect. Except more Jack goodness).

got a feeling though that the "badwolf"/"torchwood" of this season is going to be something called SAXON

im sure i heard somebody saying the name near the end when the various paitents are getting checked out (trying really hard not to give to much away here) and the wall behind the new assitant had a poster on it reading "VOTE SAXON" it was clearly in shot twice in that scene, directly over her shoulder.

also my current theory about SAXON is that it has something to do with the master.

on a side note if im right, you guys all owe me a drink.

just remebered, mines a VERY large JD and coke

I thought that myself seeing as they dropped it into the conversation earlier. But I also think the Dr might have done something to the tardis when he used his sonic screw driver before the Master escaped, maybe some kind of recall.

The other theory is that the Masters tardis is still around somewhere, if the Master put himself into hiding he must have had a dam good reason for it. The Dr did it to hide himself from the family of blood, this makes me wonder who the Master was hiding from to take a similar drastic measure. He didn’t have the benefit of an assistant to watch over him so it must have been serious situation to become human and risk never being able to change himself back.

We know the Master had his own tardis with a working cameleon circuit, why strand yourself at the end of the universe with no means of escape ?. If we know one thing it is the Master was never stupid and always had a get of jail free card to play.

So I think either the Dr's going to fix Captain Jacks time watch, or the tardis is on recall, or failing that they find and use the Masters tardis. I'm hoping for the third, I'd love to see inside his tardis just to see what it's like. I'm also hoping the Master explains what the hell happened to him and why he went to such drastic measures to hide himself, how the hell did he get there in the first place.

One way or another next weeks episode is going to be a cracker 8)

I reckon he hid due to the time war- it seemed implied anyway.

Sadly, though I'd love to see the Master's TARDIS, I doubt we'll see it- the set would cost too much to build.
