The ending was a bit meh, the Master should have gotten away in his own fully functional Tardis.

Or alternately, he could have been put away in the brig of the Tardis (yeah, the Tardis is so big that there's probably a brig).

Captain Jack was a bit too inactive in this ep, he usually kicks more ass in Torchwood.

Good episode, and better than last year's finale. Last year's was more of a let down, and the 'emergency temporal shift' will forever be a worse plot device than good old Japanese Power of Love to bring the Doc back.

Reading up on the Dr this morning. Martha is going to be in some of the new Torchwood episode next series, I actually preferred her to Rose …. yeah yeah kiss my ass all you Rose fans

She then teams up with the Dr again half way through the 4th series, but the Dr has a new companion from the start of the new series. So we'll see him travelling around with two this time …. threesome anyone :lol:

I agree with Burn about the Master, it was a nice little bit at the end to ensure the Master is not dead for good. No major Dr Who baddie should ever be killed off permanently especially the Master.

Sorry, but I loved Donna. Rather than being some "oh Doctor save meeeee" type of companion she was a "OI! DOCTOR! GET OVA 'ERE AND SAVE ME!" Quite refreshing, and the Doctor needs someone to harrass him. :grin:

She was good for an episode. For a single episode. But an entire series of her? That is more than my ears can take. Why doesn't he go and take a nice sweedish lass or an Australian. The Australian accent is nice on the ears.

Catherine Tate accepts proposal to star in fourth series.

Catherine Tate is set to return to the TARDIS for the complete 13 week run of Series Four of Doctor Who.

Award winning comedian Tate will reprise her role as Donna, the runaway bride from last year's Christmas special, despite turning down the Doctor's invitation to travel with him at the end of that adventure.

When Catherine was asked if she would like to become The Doctor's new companion at the press screening of The Runaway Bride, she replied, "I would love to, but no one has asked!" Well, now they have.

"Catherine was an absolute star in The Runaway Bride and we are delighted that one of Britain's greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth series," announced Doctor Who's executive producer and head writer, Russell T Davies. "Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008."

Catherine Tate added : "I am delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to travelling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey."

Freema Agyeman who has played Martha Jones, The Doctor's companion throughout the critically acclaimed third series, will return to the show to join The Doctor and Donna mid series.

You have to wonder after the pitiful season finale (and a pretty lack luster season overall) and the casting of Kylie Minogue plus what some consider the questionable casting of Catherine Tate, if RTD is actually beginning to run out of good ideas.

Did he have any to begin with? I mean, if your resume has such so called classics as "Aliens of London", "World War III" and "Love and Monsters" on it, I wouldn't be surprised to find that you couldn't get work anywhere.
