Remember, the Master said when the Doctor finds out who the Tocflane are, it'll break his hearts.
Also, the Master created the Utopia beacon that everyone is following, rewatch the very end of the previous episode to catch the innuendo.

The Master played his part well, i'll give him credit for that.
The part where the Dr fed off the physic energy was a bit corny, it was kind of like a regeneration in a way. I always knew they had to turn back the clocks some how.
The best part was the last 10 minutes where the Dr and the Master finally connected. The part where the Master was in the Dr's arms refusing to regenerate just to spite the Dr was brilliant. The Dr always wins but just this once the Master finally got one over on him, he made him the last time lord, all on his own ...... or did he ? ...
nah good old BBC dropped a bit in at the end to throw a bit of a twist for the future
And to top it all off the part i wasn't expecting, Martha leaving the Dr. Seemed harsh, he'd just lost the Master and was finally the last of his kind and she leaves him. She'll be back.

Missed it, when's it on again?
Optimus Frimal wrote:God that was such an awful series finale, after the brilliant Sound of Drums episode, they go and do that!
In my opinion, they ruined two decent characters, The Face of Boe and Captain Jack and they killed off John Simm, so The Master survived, it'll be a different actor next time, who could never beat the performances John Simm gave.
And, to top it all off, att the end of the next series (if you believe the papers) David Tennant and Russel T Davies are leaving!![]()

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm glad that Martha isn't going to be in it much anymore, the character was so boring! Martha had hardly any background at all, which was one of the reasons Rose was so good.
Oh well, my rant is over, I'm going to go watch Series 1 and 2 on DVD now and think about how much better series three could have beeen...![]()

Rani perhaps? Or maybe they'll throw a curve ball and it'll be Romana?

If I'm correct the shooting/death was all a cunning plan to escape being the Doctor's prisoner. What better way to escape then to fake your own death? At least this way the Doctor won't be chasing him around time and space, letting him cook up another dastardly plan.
I found it interesting that in season 1 (new series), the Tardis survived a few missile hits from the Daleks, but it seems it cannot withstand the bow of a boat. Weird.

No, she's not. And not only is she not going to be back next series, but she'll be on Torchwood until then.
