I'm waiting for you Love and Monsters haters to jump up and down about it though.![]()
But it was one of those fun little stories they need before a big one.

Was Love and Monsters last year's doctorless ep? Because that was a bad ep.
But this ep was brilliant. One of the best in the series. When I first realised it would be a doctorless ep, my hopes sank. Glad I was wrong. So very very wrong.
A fine piece of acting and script writing. When the guy looked away for the briefest moment and the angel was that much closer to him with that 'rawr' face, I was slightly on edge. I even felt a little something stir when the cop died. Though I'll be keeping my eyes on those weeping angels statues next time I pass some.Amazing they could create such great villains by using a bunch of stone statues.

In her first ep, Martha said her cousin worked for Torchwood. They never heard from her after the Cyberman Invasion. That's who she was reffering to.
Identical cousins. Twins seperated at birth? This could lead into a whole new subplot for Martha.

I find it odd that online there's so many people who hold Love & Monsters in such high esteem, especially when the public seemingly abhors it.

Burn wrote:A lot of people shed tears over it actually.
If you'd watched all of the two seasons you'd probably still be wailing.
Look at War Hammer (well don't actually look at him, you'll go blind, and no he can't send you back in time either when you don't look at him), he's hardly been around since Rose left.

It was a fun and quirky episode which also told a tale of the impact The Doctor has on the lives of others. Something that was never really explored before until the new series started, and it's those episodes that I really enjoy.

i missed the credits at the begining so can someone tell me who wrote this bacause it was very PJ hammond-ish
all in all a very well written, acted and paced episode. the statues were actually classically horrific in a hitchcockian way. when the nintingale bloke turned around for a secoud turned back and it was inches away from his throat with a ravanous look on its face i practically jumped!
partholon wrote:thanks man, i was looking around elsewhere and found out he's the guy that did the episode of the girl in the fireplace and much more creepy the one in the first series with the kid with the gasmask for his face. now that was freaky.
funniest thing is moffat is the same bloke that came up with coupling in bbc 2 and press gang way back in the late 80s. hard to believe a comedy writer could churn out such amazing horror stories
