Mkall wrote:Well, the new season of Torchwood has begun. I thought it was a good episode, learning more and more about Jack's past. I think he's the only one that can go from snogging to kicking ass to drinking all within five minutes and make it seem... well, believable. I am disappointed that differences in the ending of Season 1 and the Doctor Who series just seemed to be ignored, at least for now. I know there will be blamings on RTD for that major incongruity, but I hope the difference will sort itself out in time. Previews for what's coming look good too. Martha Jones shows up, stuff with nukes, weavels, giant bugs, aliens in denial, that sort of thing.
I liked the last few lines best:
Yanto: It's all over
Owen: Let's all have sex
Yanto: Just when I thought the end of the world couldn't get any worst.

Everything with The Master was rolled back. The only ones that remember that year happening were those at the centre of the "time storm". Jack, The Doctor, The Master, Mrs Saxon, and the Jones'.
It would be understandable if Jack disappeared for a little while to come to terms with what he witnessed. When Gwen asked him where he was you could see he was struggling so it probably took him a while to come to terms with things.
Or we could simply put it down to poopy writing. Which quite frankly, is what i've come to expect from Torchwood. Only redeeming factor for this episode? James Marsters of course. Everything else was pretty bland.

Yes and it took a year for Martha to travel the world spreading the word of The Doctor.

Yes, and that year was rolled back. To 8.02am on the morning of 'First Contact'. Which makes me ask this: That year wasn't rewound for those on Cloudbase, so are they all 1 year older now? My bro actually brought this up when the doc said he was 113 in the Christmas ep so he was 112 in the last series. But if he didn't rewind in time, then he was 111 in the last series.
Ah, the questions those who have never watched Who before come up with.

We did discuss it in this thread! Pay attention!![]()
But seriously, check it out, it's good clean fun and despite being aimed at young teens I found it really enjoyable.
Classic Series actor passes away.
Kevin Stoney, the acclaimed actor who portrayed two of the greatest villains in the original series of Doctor Who, has died at the age of 86.
Stoney first appeared in Doctor Who as Guardian of the Solar System Mavic Chen, confronting William Hartnell's Doctor in the 1965 story The Daleks' Master Plan.
Three year's later, he returned to battle Patrick Troughton as Tobias Vaughn in the Cyberman epic The Invasion.
Stoney's last contribution to Doctor Who came in 1975, playing the Vogan Tyrum in Revenge of the Cybermen.
The actor was also well known for roles in such classic series as Blake's 7, I, Claudius and The Tomorrow People.

Though with all the "demons" they seem to have to be dealing with, i'd love to see a Torchwood/Supernatural cross-over.
