First of all, I'd like to say G4 are TOTAL NOOBS!
With that out of my way, here are my thoughts:
Microsoft
*Liked the live band intro
*After that, the whole thing seemed unrehearsed
*Could of done without the Rock Band demo
*Who cares about Viva Pinata?
*Mass Effect looks amazing, but it seems more than a little similar to Advent Rising
*Some of the stats they gave seemed inflated
*PGR4-Looks good, but not my cup of tea
*Dynasty Warriors:GUNDAM-The title, as well as the 2 TMs, kind of threw me b/c there's already a series called Dynasty Warriors. Giant robot samurais? Not interested, especially confidering how the last Gundam game turned out
*Call of Duty 4-YEAH! I've been wanting to get into the CoD series and this looks like a beautiful starting point
*Stranglehold:Not familiar with the people behind the game, so I'm not really getting what the hype is about
*Guitar Hero 3-If they're coming out with Rock Band, why do we need another Guitar Hero?
*Beautiful Katamari-Speaking of beauty. Gives me 1 less reason to buy a PS3
*Lost Odessy-What is this an RPG? I didn't know the 360 was physically capable of running an japanise RPG like this
*NBA 08-Don't care about basketball, even if it a Canadian game
*Fatal Inertia-This game is to F-Zero as Scrambler 10 is to Scrabble
(If you watched American Inventor last night you got the joke)
*Medal of Honor Airborn-[sarcasm]Another WW2 shooter?! Wow! Just what I've been waiting for![/sarcasm] Watch, next year...Medal of Honor Baghdad Bombers
*Tiger Woods 08-Rather play it on Wii
*Ace Combat 6-I didn't know there was a Ace Combat 1-5. That's how much I don't care.
*NHL 08-It's hockey, eh... Must. Resist. Urge. To. Buy... Damb. My. Canadian. Blood...
*Assasin's Creed-Oh, yeah! PoP, but in the crusades.[best Borat impression]Kill the Jews!
*Spiderman: Friend or Foe?-Where did this come from? Looks interesting, but kid oriented.
*Simpsons-movie game. Must I say more?
*Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction-While not a longer title than Double Agent, still means more money for Tom Clancy. I'm getting sick of these Tom Clancy games.
*NASCAR 08-Get 'er done! Is that how you punctuate that? Does anyone play NASCAR games?
*Eternal Sonata-Whoa? Another RPG? I thought this was XBox, not PS2
*BioShock-Looks creapy and interesting, but will have to back of the FPS line behind Halo 3, Orange Box, Metroid Prime 3...
*Madden 08-I don't see the attraction of football. Could be that damb Canuck in me, but just doesn't seem worth my time. Although I may rent it if I can get some easy achievements out of it
*Tony Hawk-What is he like 40 now? Get off the skateboard! Your gonna break your hip! I swear, he's almost as bad as Clancy
*Crash of the Titans-Cool, Crash is back. Wait. Wasn't Crash Playstations mascot?
*Harry Potter and the Order of the Penis-Hey, I think that beat Tom's record. What? That's not how it's
spelled? But I thought you got to play with Harry's "majic wand"?
*Orange Box-All I can say is can't wait
*Bee Movie Game-Never heard of the movie or the game. Probably crap
*Rock Band-I'll wait for Rock Band 3 so I can break out the bagpipes
*Naruto-It'll suck. Believe it!
*As for the Arcade games, only 1 stood out for me. Marathon. I've been wanting to play some of Bungies old games for a while. Why didn't they do this sooner?
*On Demand is coming to Canada! Woohoo! Can't wait to watch those Disney movies. Oh wait, yes I can.
*Cliff B is a prick
*
Resident Evil 5-Just a short meaningless video. I got more from the first trailer. But I love RE4, so I'll definately be picking this up, just too bad it's not on Wii
*
GTA4-Big game oviously. I really hope it expands and builds on the genre
*Halo Wars-Looks good. I may pick it up and I hate that style of game
*
Halo 3-Another big game. Chief/Arbiter Onlin Co-op, please? New warthog? Looks fantastic. Just hope the mutliplayer wasn't so similar to Halo 2 and more like Halo 1.
Nintendo
*I liked the montages, but the long stats briefings was mostly boring
*100 games for Wii and 140 games for DS before the end of the year. Sounds good, but how many of those Wii games will be retail games and not just Vitual Console releases?
*WiiZapper-Coolness! Looks like machine gun, where as the zapper at last years E3 looked more like a shotgun. I'd buy them both. While you can use it with Umbrella Cronicles, I wonder if you'll be able to use it with RE4
*Soul Calibur Legends-Looks like an awesome beat em up adventure.
*Smackdown vs Raw-Had to come sooner or later. I'm just interested in how you'll control you character with the Wiimote and stylus
*Ninja Gaiden-Should have been on Wii. How cool would it be to throw ninja stars with the Wiimote?
*Dragon Quest Swords-I have only played Dragon Quest Monsters and that was back in the Pokemon days when there was a dry spell, so I really have no interest in anything Dragon Quest
*Mario and Sonic at the Olympics-When I first heard of this game, I thought it was a cheap cash in on Nintendo and Segas part. But you know, this may actually be fun if it's anything like Wii Sports
*SSB Brawl-Pure awesome! I just hope it's online enabled.
*LoZ Phantom Hourglass-Not really into the overhead Zelda games, but I'll keep my eye on this one
*Metroid Prime 3-Looks good, but I'm really wondering how the controls and gameplay are. And why did they take out mutliplayer? If this is the last FPS Metroid game, what will FPS fan Wii owners play online?
*Mario Strikers Charged-Not a soccer fan either.
*Madden and FIFA 08-Still not a football fan. But what about online hockey on the Wii?
*Dragon Quest Monsters-This is like what they should make a real Pokemon game for the Wii
*Guitar Hero 3-For the Wii...still not interesting to me...
*Mario Kart-Expected, but very nice none the less. And you get a wheel with it, as if there wasn't already one.
*Cooking game for DS?-lol
*Mario Galaxy-It's Mario! And he has a bee costume, so will he have other costumes like in SMB3?
*Picross-Does the DS need another puzzle game?
*My Sims-Seems to be in the same vien as Animal Crossing
*High School Musical-I'm not a 13 year old girl, or a creepy 40 year old man, so I don't have any interest in this movie game
*Rayman Raving Rabbids 2-Didn't play the 1st one, probably won't play this one either
*Eye Training game-How do you train your eyes? Will this make me better at sniping little kids in Halo 3?
*My Word Coach-Thiss s-s-soundss like a-a-a s-st-stupid g-game...
*My Life Coach-How humiliating will it be to pick up this game?
*
WiiFit-Speaking of embarassing. This seems like a make-or-break game. If it's fun and popular, it could catch on like WiiSports. But if not, it could be a blackeye on the Wii and piece of junk hardware to go in the closet with your real scale. There a few problems that come to mind too. First there's the calibration issues that were present in the demo. And there's also the durability of the Balance Board. Ofcourse gamers aren't known for being the lightest or thinest group of people. So will the board be able to hold the larger "Pokemon"? But on the plus side, there are possibilities for the board in other games. I can see it being used in a Tony Hawk game to control steer and balance. I think you can even use it for movement in games. By leaning forward, you go forward. Lean back, go back. Lean left, side step left. Put your weight on your left toes and right heel and turn to right. I wonder if there's even a way to let the board you're crouching. Think about using a board and wiimote to play FPSs like that...aim with you're hands, move with your feet. What can be easier and more intuitive? What other things could you use the board for? It makes my mind race thinkning about it.
Be back tomorrow with my thoughts on Sony.
