Weapon: Twin Sonic Cannons
With OS back and working on the board system as well as a couple other small projects for Ryan, and me doing things for HMW again, it seems that people think that v2 will be happening again.

I'm sorry but that's not the case. Whatever projects OS is doing, only one of them is HMW related, the HMW admin panel; and that's nearing completion. I'm shouldering HMW's future; and right now my skills are not up to the level to bring about the WarMap ideas that OS had.

This means that I'm instead focusing on stuff I can do, which right now is Beast factions, tactics and bringing the quints back. After that, we'll see what happens. I may not be able to bring the visions OS had, but I'm doing my best to make the game interesting again.

There is NO mass reset planned anymore. I'm bringing in stuff into the current version. If you are interested in having your team reset though, drop me a PM and we'll talk.

Quite frankly Mkall i think this is the best news about HMW i've had.

though i've never found the game boring, just a little broken.


I think/hope that with all Quints/kremzeeks/robot modes/minicons/new weapons/tournies/beast factions that the community realises it's not about what's in the game, it's about how you execute it. V2 may have promised loads of features but a but load of badly executed stuff isn't going to add to gameplay as well as a few very slick and polished ideas

i veiw this as a victory for substance over style.

Thanks for the clarification.

Whatever changes you can make will be just fine especially for us beast factions. I'm just happy to know theres somebody working on stuff for us :grin:

With V2 scraped we'll all be more than happy to get V1.9 :APPLAUSE:

And the games tons of fun as it is it's just everybody likes new stuff!!

To be honest, I've always been pretty contented with hmw. I look forward to what you're doing mkall. I do hope robot modes make a grand return somewhere down the line.

I'm content with the version we have, but I wouldn't say no to new alt modes, missions or any other goodies! Whenever you're done Mkall, I'll be ready. But take your time.

And even though I'm not counting on it, I wouldn't rule out OS trying to do something.

Speaking of making things more interesting. Any way we could get some of those V2 gifs tossed into the rotater? I was most excited at the prospect of that stealth bomber, that thing is win.

Either way, I like the game the way it is for the most part. V2 will be fun, but I have no problem with the current version.

The only thing that I'd really like to see is leveling by exp instead of stats.

Bots at their correct levels means more points for all and perhaps more new players sticking with the game thru the tough opening levels.

the problem with that is that it will still be open to abuse from over amping, we need to standardise the stats so that every point gives the same amount of improvement. that's what i set out to do with the weapons and for most part did, but that's also why i aked mkall to give every stat a tactic to feed, that doesn't seem to have happened as we've now got more than 8 tactics but less than 16...

Some might not have a feeder stat, in that they might just happen without a scale. I'd like to see avoid relegated to do that, as it doesn't scale with its feeder stat. Something else could use speed then.

My first post in god know how long, but I've recently just started getting back into playing HMW. I am really happy with what I see from the last time I toyed arround with the game, and look forward to seeing what things come in the future.

Also, since I see new factions seem to be a Hot Topic, why no love for the Vehicons. :sad: Something about the idea of playing vehicons just steals my spark. Yeah, I know it will never happen.

Wow, haven't seen you here in forever and a day, Kupp.

I am pleased with the direction of the game. A fixed game is better then a shiney POS that is distracts you with bells and whistles and shiney objects to play with. When everything is fixed and rus smoothly, then think about coming out HMW v2.0. I can live with HMW v1.93723568736262512.

It'll break the game. Tam cracked some of the forumlae, and I was able to work out the points at which stats over 10 would crash the entire game. I forget the exact numbers (though ten minutes would see me working them out again), but endurance over 10 is the most dangerous, it might even cause the whole site to crash. Speed over 10 can lead to characters being literally unable to be hit by conventional attacks. So stats over 10 is a bad thing.

Extend them to 20 maybe? It's gotta get boring at the very top.



Or maybe an idea like on Call of Duty 4? A sort of prestige level?

Get to twenty, then be given the option to lose all usable XP (and other stuff attached to that character- maybe not alt mode)(XP the character has up to this point becomes none-useable, but still appears in 'total XP'), and get a gold start or something next to the character's name?

Code would have to be reworked to get them viable over 10 so it wouldn't break the game, like JP said it would. It would be a good idea for v2.0.
