Just saw the Meltdown episode. Wow! Meltdown's basically your state-of-the-art comic book supervillian. He reminds me a LOT of Blight from Batman Beyond. And he's way more of an evil villian than the Archer. He was... um... what's the word?

Help me, I'm the kind of guy who chooses not to cuss and I'm trying to think of a synonym for the word spelled with the letters prounounced "bee-aay-dee-aay-ess-ess". I'm sure you know which word I'm thinking of. I need a non-curse word to use with the same meaning and as impactful as that word. "Badbutt" and "baddonkey" don't sound right, they sound stupid.

Don't ask why I don't swear, just help me find a word, please?

Is it wrong that I wanted more carnage with the Autobots and Meltdown? They seemed to survive it pretty well intact. Bah, what a mean streak--I'm an autobot at heart.

It was a pretty violent episode, but TF started as a violent show, so that's ok. At least they've found more creative means than just guns.

I just found episode 5 "Total Meltdown" on YouTube.

Likes:

Mr. Black was everything I exspected him to be and MORE!

Meltdown tried to kill Sumdac and I hate Sumdac. Don't really agree with the whole "I hate machines so lets bio engineer humans" thing but still just don't like Sumdac.

Dislikes:

The other dude was a total rip off of "Bane" from Batman.

Bumblebee says "Hey I didn't make fun of you when you were small" but he actully DID make fun of the guy when he was small.

The whole thing about Bumblebee's hight. He may be the smallest of the Autobots but he's still bigger than most humans.

Another blooper, if he melts through "everything" why is able to still be wearing his pimp suit and not melt through the floor?

Anyway this is by far the best episode to date.

I think he can control his melting abilities by choosing what to melt and what not to melt (rapidly). Which is why he made dents in the floor when he walked and why his suit didn't melt.

Also, was the suit he wore as Meltdown a different one than what he wore as a human, or was it the same one but with some modifications?

And, has anyone noticed that some of the human villians have the same names as some very old never-seen-again Transformers toys? Lemme explain, Meltdown is one, it was the name of a Micromaster combiner Decepticon (Autobot in Japan) part of the Battle Squad (Jet Tank W Team in Japan). The Headmaster is an obvious reference to the old Headmaster transformers figures. And Meltdown's old man sidekick Colossus shares his name with the European G2 Obliterator Clench who was also known as Colossus.

And he learned to do this control immediately?? I think not! I just think it was poorly planned and poorly executed....such things happen with HORRID episodes! :P

Yes, in the beginning Bee was completely getting his fender handed to him, and of course we had the melting scenes. I thought there could've been more myself but for a kids' show it was fairly violent. When I need my fix of TF violence I break out Megatron Origin.

Lockdown is awesome! He's cold, cunning, cruel, and sneaky. This guy has it all. And the way he takes his victim's weapons is just sick! He also thinks it was Prime that killed Megs, when really it was Starscream. And seeing Blitzwing again was cool. I wonder how long it'll be till the Decepticons learn thaty it was Screamer who killed Megatron. Once they find out, Screamer's in for it BIG TIME! :P

Arcee is a nice treat for the fans. She looks a whole lot like her G1 self and has the same voice actor. Yeah! But it's a shame she was brainwashed and might not be seen again. I doubt they'll make a toy of her.

I'll loved it when Ratchet's like, "This was medical tool, it was meant for healing! You turned it into a weapon!" Nice!

Also, with these flashbacks, I guess that shows that this series isn't connected to the G1 animated series.

I don't think they're personalities are all that similar, outside of them both being bounty hunters, which requires a degree of similarity.

I thought G1 was cute, too. To me, the comics are cool, while Animated and G1 are "cute". They have "cool" elements to them as well, though. Megatron is cool. Bumblebee is cute. That's what I like about TF, that it can be both.

I very much disliked Lockdown, people seem to enjoy the hook, I don't (What is the point?) He also had a weird neck and face, his personality was the only cool point for him.

I enjoyed seeing Arcee much more then Lockdown, I hope she will return in a in a later
episode.

Best part of the episode was when Blitzwing said "I wanna see him transform into a firetruck!."

OK that was different...

1. I like Lockdown.

2. Arcee needs a bigger part in the series. I hope that's not all we ever see of her.

3. I wish they showed Lockdown's Cybertronian alt mode. It was there but only in shadow.

I have to respectfully disagree. I thought Lockdown was quite an interesting character. I was surprised how cold and calculating he could be in a cartoon like this. I was fully impressed.

I too enjoyed seeing Arcee, and I surely hope that she had enough screen time to warrant a figure. (IIRC we were told that outside of the main robot cast, that all of the other characters would be a one shot per episode. With 29 total eps, that's actually quite believable.)

And yes, Blitzwing was worth a roffle.

1.) So do I. Quite a bit in fact.

2.) See my previous post. (I'm not sure Lockdown will fit into this plan or not. If he was recurring, it would rock. I seriously doubt they'd pull in big names like Lance Henriksen, Peter Stormare and "Weird" Al Yankovic for one shots. My guess is, they'll be recurring characters as time goes on.)

3.) Wasn't much different than his Earth Mode really. (Although, speaking of Cybertron Mode...I think we'll be seeing a Ratchet figure in both versions as well. I still prefer the Earth Mode...)

I was incredibly impressed with this episode. I found it to be the darkest one of them all, so far. I was quite shocked that they showed Ratchet as being vengeful (which fit and I thought was an excellent, not to mention, mature move on the part of the writers.) I was expecting them to show him as the can do no wrong hero, leave no man behind, etc. It was realistic for him to turn his back and leave Lockdown to rot.

And I will admit (and this is quite rare for any show, especially anything TF related)...the scene with Ratchet sitting at the end, talking with Prime...that brought a tear to my eye.

Machines they may be, but they're as human as the rest of us, and today's episode should prove that. TF:A is definitely the best TF series in a long time and is having a good chance in becoming the best one, period. Even BW is starting to take a backseat in my mind.

My dad didn't care for it for two reasons, 1.) He thought it was excessively dark, but still says the writing's fantastic. 2.) He missed Sari. (So did I.)

I surely hope we see an Arcee toy...I think the fans will lynch if we don't. lol

Well as i posted in the individual ep thread i remember seeing an Arcee in the pics when Animated was announced.
They had prototype models of Grimlock and Slag, a couple others, Blitzwing was a design sketch and i think so was Arcee though she may have been a proto too.
Only thing that bothered me with her Ep is they never let her transform.

Also its kinda wierd that with how far away from G1 they too kthe original cast, alot of the newer cast are Spot on G1. Grimlock and Arcee are virtually identical.

Indeed! You could actually put in print that there is no corrolation between TF:A and G1 and people would deny it, if they wanna see that they are connected! Fanboys are odd like that!

I meant that the flashbacks weren't G1 footage. It was said a while back that if the flashbacks were G1 footage, then those who believe G1 and TF:A are connected said that would further prove that their belief is correct. But since it wasn't, they can't.

I agree but like I said before even if it were G1 fottage it woulnt have proven ether groups points.

We have to look at how the footage is presented and the context of the dialoge as well as the characterztion of Ratchet to come to a conclution for this debate.

And all evidence points to the two serries being serprate.

I love the new series. Only things that bug me so far are

1) I oversleep when its shown here. And I settle for YouTube...

2)the human villains are too comicbook-ish/cheesy. I guess I'm judging only off that acid dude, but I want to see more Decepticons.
