Calling it now. If any Autobots die this Season, it'll be Jackie.
Also, that's odd. Weren't these relic macguffin bone hunts supposed to be happening concurrently, like the four parter from Season 2?

Well, last episode only showed two signatures being detected (El Paso and Scotland). So this could be a third one detected after the two teams from before return to base.Henry921 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Based on the preview for the next episode, looks like Jackie's helping Arcee fight some Insecticons.njb902 wrote:Wheeljack is a deserter, what scum. Excellent,
BEARING IN MIND THAT:
*2 years of backstory cannot avoid making Beast Hunters familiar and unfamiliarities forgotten or sunken in, and
*Preject: Predacon served very well to either appear to, or actually bring the past 2 seasons and expectations for this one into line/alignment. The confirmations/name drops/events in project Predacon serve to take away attention defecit from waiting for certain things rather than fully obsserving what is happening NOW, which obviously brings more immersion into the NOW of the events of Chain Of Command.
Confused again? Ignore it.
TIDBITS:
*The absence of the rest of the Autobots (and their 'flashier' fighting styles made observation (and appreciation) of the 3 present very thorogh. Thank you.
*Once again, massive standing ovation from me for the ppl who plan out and set down the camera angles and close up/pan sequences, especially during the battle outside the cave/tunnel. Brilliant co-work with all the other teams and great to see.
*I just noticed the lovely green playing across the ground bridge in the opening sequence where Jack climbs onto Arcee and they mobilize. Love it.
*Miko: Well done, girl. Haters gonna hate ya but you have come a long way. Her line: "It protected you, didn't it?": Suh-LAMMED (that's SLAMMED if you're confused {again}). Impressed too see that the Apex armor was saved with a view towards Scream and Miko using it in vital moments. Was not expecting such foresught from the writers. Well done.
*Role reversal in the episode start with megz, Scream and Shocker: Starscream was the most logical, Shockwave didn't even give him a run-down on what to do with the Predacon. No like, even tho personalities and alterior motives were evident (Megz instruction to Scream to take command of Pking even had a tint of bloodthirst in the statement, which I must admit I smirked at, even tho I was disappointed to see the Cons are still *that* childish).
*Wheeljack vs Ultra Magunus: Obviously I went into the episode riled up and bristlebacked about this siuation, and obviously I personally back Magnus (and what he has to offer)Ultimately, I disliked Magnus' consistent beration (and therefore overall overbearing portrayal) very much.'By the book' includes so many back up plans that Magnus should have just dealt with the tactical adjustment FAST and berated ONCE at the end. That's efficiency BUT it actually wouldn't have served later developments.
Example: Miko appears, Magnus should just give her a hiding spot, several fall back hide spots so he will know EXACTLY where to find her and move on FAST and QUIET but this doesn't help her climb to the ship and aquisition of the Apex armor later.
Lots of mistakes in this overall subplot including W/Jacks massive tin can racket landing when he kills the first Con and then "oh scrap" he's dissappointed to see more coming. What, didn't you know Decepticons have audio receptors, maybe tremor sensors as well?
Ultra Magnus vs Wheeljack:
*Overbearing, incorrect 'stereotype' portrayal of military officer propagated by the film 'Full metal Jacket" et al and assumed by Hollywood to be the norm now (albeit toned down for this show). Having served in two armies I have to say: No like.
*U/Mag states upon deployment "Okay (or "alright" or something) Beast Hunters". This is a Team of THREE BEAST HUNTERS, not TWO WRECKERS AND A SEMI WELCOME BLOW IN and Wheeljack didn't acknowledge it. Could have saved a lot of fuss.
*Magnus states "WE make OUR stand HERE". Together with Bulkheads voluntary (and risky and daring) full body intercept of the incoming tail, this was moving. Very Like.
*Pity W/Jack bailed again. Hope his wandering brings him to more Autobot arrivals on Earth.
*This show needs more basic SOLDIERS in the Autobot ranks. Magnus and Arcee are not enough and both have tarnished operational demeanor (Arcee is haunted by A/chnidphobia and partnerphobia whereas Magnus is not portrayed as a successful representative (and therefore recruiter to the benefits of) "The Book".
S1 and S2 are not forgiven, but I am enjoying S3/BH. Keep going, Writers. I have not abandoned you yet.

i don't mind the relic hunting cos it's a good way to have episodic stories that lead to some big macguffin the decepticons will unleash. Serves the characters better than a new plot to destroy the world every other episode which leads the decepticons to be beaten and their leader scream "retreat" in every episode.
not a fan of humans but miko was enjoyable in this, and let's face it, the kids are pretty bearable for the most part in prime.
would be fun if at one point the action shifts to a heavily populated metropolis where both decepticons and autobots struggle to keep their disguise above ground

I must admit, episode is a really fun to watch. Finaly Predaking show hes true power level, beting crap out of three Wreckers is something I wanna see. Also we finally see some real damage in the series, first Prime make a big hole in insectiocon, and now one of Vehicons lost his head
Starscream returns to he's own, funny self. I wonder did Megatron realise that he lost Armor

What is love? Baby don't hurt me, Don't hurt me, no more.

Next episode looks like Arcee and Wheeljack against Knockout and some Insecticons, and it looks like Arcee has her weapon she was using in "Rebellion" back.

Not with how cheap the budget for this show has been thus far. If anything, it'd be an empty Metropolis with five buildings just repeated again and again to make a city's worth.frogbat wrote:would be fun if at one point the action shifts to a heavily populated metropolis where both decepticons and autobots struggle to keep their disguise above ground

1. Ratchet's line of "Innocent vehicles battling for the pleasure of human spectators? (*shudders*) Bloodsport!" and the response of Bulkhead and Miko cheering "Yeaaah!" were cut.
2. Ratchet's line of "I don't exactly have instant access to the wisdom of the Ancients," and Optimus' line of "I will not allow another one of our own to be sacrificed. No matter the cost," were cut.
3. The new commercial break played right after Optimus said to Ratchet "Bridge us back, immediately!" before cutting back to Bulkhead about to get his head cut off by Knock Out.
And next week is "the last bonus episode of Transformers: Prime," episode 22.

Decapitation? That was more like disembowelment. Also, Starscream killing Cliffjumper.

I also like the fact that Predaking seems to instinctively attack anyone wearing the Apex Armor.
Oh yeah, and MAGNUS HAMMERTIME. Can't go wrong with Magnus Hammertime.

The awesomeness of Miko opening up a can of hurt on Starscream aside, for those who are still bothered by the fact that a mere human went toe-to-toe with a Decepticon and won, watch these two videos:
After this, a couple of other Decepticons make a grab for the Autobots' female human ally Minerva, and order the Optimus Prime lookalike Ginrai to stand down or they will kill her. The other guy Sixknight, however, is unaware of this blackmail, gets free, and wants to continue the fight...

If that's all we see of Skystalker, I can rest easy knowing that there's some half justification for all the Predacon toys. (tl note: this is not meant to indicate that I don't like the 'con toys, because I love them. But only Predaking has appeared in the show at all and I'm wondering if this is going to change)
