Still doesn't explain how the military has Nemesis' remains, but not the remote control unit used to control it (even regarding MECH "clean sweep" M.O.).
Maybe the "military" branch that has Nemesis Prime is MECH.
Incredibly implausible. The military tends to notice things like, say, an entire branch being a terrorist organization actively working against the US Government.
This IS a cartoon were talking about though. You never do know until it hits the fan.
The aspect in particular that being referred to us the U.S. military, which in this series is portrayed as functioning just like the real world U.S. military.Scourgescream wrote:It has aspects of the real world in it but in no way can you say this it is based on the real world! laughable

Now you're just trolling. Don't jump into a discussion if you've nothing to contribute.Scourgescream wrote:The real world military being in cahoots with giant transforming robots and giving them a secret base? yeah, ok. Whatever you say.

What you were saying has nothing to do with what Shadowman, sly, and Archanubis were saying. Shadowman was saying that since the U.S. military is observant enough to know if a whole branch of theirs is committing treason against the government, that there's no way that a whole branch could be secretly occupied entirely by MECH spies. THAT is what they were saying.Scourgescream wrote:No, i'm disagreeing with you.
It is not trolling.
I know you think your word is final round here but it isn't.

It's as every much based on the real world as the live action movies. Being a work of fiction, of course there's going to be some deviance. That goes without saying. But, that still does not dismiss that the U.S. military is portrayed in this series to function in a vein identical to that of its real world counterpart. That is what I was referring to, as my response was a part of the context of that conversation. Otherwise, my words would be taken out of context.Scourgescream wrote:I'm not talking about those posters.

Shadowman wrote:Here's the thing: There is a limit on what suspension of disbelief can account for. The US government having a shaky relationship with an alien species that admittedly just wants to help out around the house, so to speak, that's one thing. On the other hand, the US military failing to realize it's not just employing a couple of infiltrators, but that an entire terrorist organization is actually a branch of the US government, that's taking it too far.
Ask me to believe in aliens, I can do that. Ask me to believe the government would be okay with the giant alien soldiers helping solve problems, again, that's not too far out. Ask me to believe that the right hand is constantly trying to kill the left hand and vice versa without realizing they're both part of the same body, now you've lost suspension of disbelief.
YES! Thank you! That is exactly what I was trying to get at!Shadowman wrote:Here's the thing: There is a limit on what suspension of disbelief can account for. Very well put. There's no doubt that MECH having some operatives planted within the U.S. military is a possibility.Lord Manhammer '74 wrote:Over the years I've read, and seen a lot of material involving espinoge, covert activities, and the power plays within the government, and its assorted agencies. I doubt very much MECH is an entire faction within the U.S. government or military. However, Agent Fowler staed probably had members withing certain agencies, and/or branches. One thing that I've picked up on, is that with vast beuracracies like our own. Having certain personel, in certain plaves ,of certain agencies can get get you what you want. A certain set of orders can be sent through with what appears to be the proper signatures can get you what you want, or foul up the efforts of someone trying to stop you. Also, somthing talked about on BURN NOTICE, the organization that burned the main character, Micheal Weston, was formed from the skeltons of various covert operations after they were completed, and supposedly shut down. But ceratain parties kept the infrastruction to these black bag operation still running, and used them form an operation that functioned under the CIA's nose for years. And since Silas no doubt was part of these sort've things when he was part of Special Tactics during his Leland Bishop days. I don't doubt he has a network of operatives, contacts throughout the government that he cultivated when still with Special Tactics.

They kinda hinted that the Jackhammer's being kept at Autobot Outpost Omega One while Wheeljack explores Earth with his sleek new car altmode.njb902 wrote:so on an unrelated note anyone wondering where wheeljack and his interstellar ship are? in the upcoming toys we have ironhide and hotshot perhaps he has been recruiting off planet. you would think after being stuck on earth for at least 3 years they would want some contact with the galaxy at large now that they have a way to.
anyone else have any theories/musings on the matter?

I don't see any jets flying about during the promo I can find - hard to tell, some of the Insecticons look like fighter jets from certain angles. Besides, it'd be something of a stretch of Starscream - who has no knowledge regarding surgical procedures, let along any resources - suddenly could transform without explaination. Wouldn't be unusual in a cartoon, but the writers have been on the ball about maintaining continuity in this series.
Does beg the question of who besides Airachnid is trying to assassinate Megatron in this episode.

I really doubt it. Ratchet implied stealing t-cogs is something even Megatron wouldn't resort to. Megatron turned Cybertron into an uninhabitable wasteland just to he could force the entire planet to bend to his will, so that speaks volumes for his standards.
