Powermaster Optimus Prime/Godmaster Super Ginrai predate that.

It may have been from RID on that it became almost common place for a super mode, but it certainly didn't hurt back in 1988.

I think Shadowman was speaking from a cartoon perspective (and Ginrai wasn't Optimus/Convoy).

Though, Powermaster Optimus Prime did appear in the "season five" episodes of the G1 cartoon (though, he was always in his Super Mode in that, so... yeah).

If one is speaking in animated terms, then yes. But since we're talking about a cartoon designed to sell toys, then regardless of an actual animated series with Optimus Prime, we still had that toy. Be it that he's called Optimus Prime or Ginrai, it was mostly the same figure. Different continuities, yes, but 95% of it is the same toy except for a few small differences.

He's also speaking of Optimus Prime as a character of fiction, not as a real world toy.

Sabrblade was right, I'm not talking about toys, I'm talking about the bits of fiction. yes, it's a series to sell toys, but Optimus never relied on a Super Mode until RID in fiction. Yes, he had toys with Super Modes, but he never used them in the cartoons.

A key aspect of the Wiki model (And one that IMDb lacks) is the need to cite sources, and Wikipedia is actually very good about this. Every article comes with sources, and if it doesn't, they'll warn you about that. The TFwiki is also very good about this, it's much more trustworthy than Wikipedia.

eh, it makes sense to a certain point. But in fictions were they actually call him by name, Sentinel Prime, confuse me as to why they did this. Animated, and the movie as well, never refer to him as Zeta by any means. But Prime, as a seperate continuety, I can respectfully understand.

Dude, those are different Sentinel Primes. What do the Sentinel Primes of G1, Animated, and the Movies have to do with this one?

Think of the Sentinel Prime from Exodus as being referred to by his title and rank instead of his name.

So the month prior image has finally come out.Image A disturbing depiction of Optimus's/Orion's divided loyalties. And an official tagline according to collider.com
The Daytime Emmy Award-winning animated series features archrivals Optimus Prime and Megatron as they once again face-off in their legendary battle for the very future of Earth. Season Two takes us even deeper into the mythology of the Transformers as both the Autobots and Decepticons uncover clues relating to secret artifacts of Iaconwhich could not only change the balance of power in the war,but also potentially revive their dead home planet of Cybertron

As could be expected it is vague and tantalizing. I am getting ever more excited over this upcoming season. I would simply adore a scene where Arcee shows Jack around a restored or healing Cybertron.
Looking forward to a season without the massive gaps. Think they'll have the bugs worked out yet?

If ever Cybertron is healed/near-healed, I'm not expecting it to occur until closer to the end of season 2.

Of course, Cybertron Hotshot did look rodimus inspired. His re-paint is evidence enough. If that BB is our new Hot Shot, He could be an homage to Cybertron Hot Shot, who Homaged Hot Rod, Who was Hot Shot in WFC. Any normal person reading this would tear off their own face...

BUT WAIT! you can use th FE Bumblebee as Bumblebee, and then get that hotshot, so they are different molds. There's an idea.

The rundown..

1) Looks like Starscream sabotages the Nemisis big time as in the main bridge explodes.
2)You get to hear a drone speak. :-o
3)Jack in a space suit. Going to Cybertron? =P~
4) Arcee beating the truth out of either a drone or *possibly* Soundwave (I STILL have trouble telling them apart at close range. 8)

I cannot wait for the 18th.

Wow... I just finished the first season of Transformers Prime in just 5 days. I just couldn't stop watching. This is easily the best Transformers show since the original G1 series. (I still haven't finished Beast Wars, Robots in Disguise, Unicron Triology, or Animated, but I can say this with confidence.) I really like the dark tone of the show, and am actually kind of surprised Hasbro gave it the green light. Hopefully they keep this series going a long time, or it is successful enough that they continue putting out some stuff aimed at an older audience. I like that they took the few good qualities of the live action movies (Optimus and Bumblebee), and Beast Wars (Arachnoid), and made something 100% better. They have plenty of nods to G1 and other series also, but the writers are doing a really good job having this appeal to a wide audience without dumbing it down to an insulting level (Bay).

One thing that really makes this series great is the voice acting, especially that it includes the OG Optimus and Megatron. The animation is just excellent, which was my biggest gripe with Beast Wars (even if it was groundbreaking for a kid's show at the time.) The human characters are actually tolerable (Armada is nearly made unwatchable by the kids, especially Billy and Fred.) This is actually the first updated representation of Soundwave since G1 that is bad ass enough to do the character justice.

The faces kind of bothered me at first, especially Starscream, but I got use to it. I wouldn't mind the humans looking a little more realistic, and a bigger cast of Transformers, but those are really just small complaints.

I'm really happy this show got another season. :KREMZEEK:

It was the same for me, actually. The gigantic eyebrows bugged me at first, as well as the lack of noses on several character. (Particularly Optimus) But then I notice how amazingly expressive their faces could be, (Starscream in Rock Bottom is a really good example) and I stopped noticing the odd facial features after that.
