It's just one guy being called something different in two stories. It's like when DOTM called Mirage and Wheeljack "Dino" and "Que", yet the comics and novels kept their real names.BeastProwl wrote:![]()

Shadowman wrote:Not really. He got along just fine before RID came along and started the trend of Optimus having a super mode
I think Shadowman was speaking from a cartoon perspective (and Ginrai wasn't Optimus/Convoy).Mat001 wrote:Shadowman wrote:Not really. He got along just fine before RID came along and started the trend of Optimus having a super mode
Powermaster Optimus Prime/Godmaster Super Ginrai predate that.

It may have been from RID on that it became almost common place for a super mode, but it certainly didn't hurt back in 1988.

He's also speaking of Optimus Prime as a character of fiction, not as a real world toy.Mat001 wrote:If one is speaking in animated terms, then yes. But since we're talking about a cartoon designed to sell toys, then regardless of an actual animated series with Optimus Prime, we still had that toy. Be it that he's called Optimus Prime or Ginrai, it was mostly the same figure. Different continuities, yes, but 95% of it is the same toy except for a few small differences.

His name is "Zeta", but he is Cybertron's "Sentinel".
Dude, those are different Sentinel Primes. What do the Sentinel Primes of G1, Animated, and the Movies have to do with this one?BeastProwl wrote:Sabrblade wrote:It's just one guy being called something different in two stories. eh, it makes sense to a certain point. But in fictions were they actually call him by name, Sentinel Prime, confuse me as to why they did this. Animated, and the movie as well, never refer to him as Zeta by any means. But Prime, as a seperate continuety, I can respectfully understand.

anyhow, how is sentinel prime dead in this continuety?
I Hope it's not the whole Sentinel/Zeta thing again, lest you make my brain explode..

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
The Daytime Emmy Award-winning animated series features archrivals Optimus Prime and Megatron as they once again face-off in their legendary battle for the very future of Earth. Season Two takes us even deeper into the mythology of the Transformers as both the Autobots and Decepticons uncover clues relating to secret artifacts of Iaconwhich could not only change the balance of power in the war,but also potentially revive their dead home planet of Cybertron
