I only get 2-minute clips. Of course, my cable provider doesn't have episode 1 and 2 up.

Robots In Disguise Combiner Force Confirmed for 26 Episodes

- Weapon: Armor Axe
Remember how we told you once that Robots in Disguise: Combiner Force was confirmed for 26 episodes, but then there was some confusion as to whether there would be 13 or 26? Well, we can confirm from you via showrunner Adam Beechen that there are 26 episodes to Season 3 as he is calling it, grouping the Starscream arc under Season 2 by the showrunner himself. This means that we now have 24 more episodes after "King of the Hill" to look forward to! What do you think of this final confirmation? Let us know in the comments section below!
Hope you enjoyed the #TransformersRID season premiere! Now get ready for 25 more new episodes! @willfriedle @ConstanceZimmer @kharypayton

So the Starscream thing is more or less officially under the second season. Alright. TFWiki will be undergoing some edits I imagine. And that means RID 2015 will contain at least 71 episodes.

Correct, correct, and correct. Cartoon network still sees Combiner Force as season 4, but I think the show editor should win that argument

Re: The Official Transformers: Robots In Disguise (Animated Series) Thread
I watched episodes 1 and 2. Really don't see why it needed to be a multi parter.
The football game was completely unnecessary. The hermit too. Only thing I hate more than human characters in Transformers is sport.
Heatseekers voice was awful. To be honest I wish they'd kill off Drift and Grimlock.
It was one of the better Soundwave voices in the franchise thankfully though nothing has come close to his G1 voice.
Still, overall I've enjoyed RID.

...Not really? I mean, the Wiki doesn't currently list the Starscream arc as Season 3.PrymeStriker wrote:So the Starscream thing is more or less officially under the second season. Alright. TFWiki will be undergoing some edits I imagine.
As to why it doesn't just lump it in the same list as Season 2, Chris McFeely has explained on the cartoon's Talk Page:
So, yeah, it is a part of Season 2, but more of an extension to that season made only after the fact, rather than an integral part that was always in the original plans for Season 2. Hence the "Season 2½" label the Wiki uses denote its separately-produced status.Seasons don't have 19 episodes, "Decepticon Island" is a clear season finale at the standard 13-episode production-unit mark, and the Starscream arc was promoted as "season 3" by the staff of the show at SDCC (and is even currently listed on Netflix and Cartoon Network's website under that name) because it was obviously produced as a separate 6-episode mini-series that wasn't considered part of season 2. They might've retroactively grouped it under that header, and I'm quite sure that if and when it's all released on a DVD box set it'll all be collected under the name of "season 2," but for us to just lump it in there is intellectually dishonest in regards to the nature of its production.

I kinda meant something like what edit actually took place on the Wiki, which ended up just being this single line:
Wikileaks wrote:retroactively, it seems to have been lumped in with season 2
But yeah, I also figured they'd put it all under season two, or at the very least list season 2 "1/2" as a mini-series subcategory underneath the second season heading. Basically, my point is, "season 2 1/2" sounds clunky as all hell.

That clunkiness is part of the intent behind that label. When it was found out to be an extension of Season 2, it was originally labeled as "Season 2.5", but was changed to "Season 2½" to not only denote the distinction between the original Season 2 episodes and the mini-series, but all to enhance the label's comedy potential. It looks ridiculous because it's supposed to look ridiculous.PrymeStriker wrote:But yeah, I also figured they'd put it all under season two, or at the very least list season 2 "1/2" as a mini-series subcategory underneath the second season heading. Not gonna lie, I've watched "the great divide" twice now and I've repeated the combination part several times. It was a really cool episode, but the combined mode squabbling was hilarious! Grimlock cracked me up the whole time:
G: "I'm the bottom aren't I?"
...
B: "Now Grim, you're the legs"
G: "I knew it"

Good to hear. It does sound like there'll be a lot going on this season (especially taking the end scene of "King of the Hill" into account). Twenty-Six episodes should be more than enough to fit it all in.

I always viewed the latter episodes with Starscream as part of season 2, always called it season 2 in all my comments...not sure where the confusion was...

I mean I know CN has cut budgets for shows short before due to lack of toy sales causing fewer episodes to get produced, or canceled them outright- but for once I would think this is not the case with RiD15. CN has had a long sad history of poor decision making however. Why there were only 19 episodes for season 2 we may never know.

Some sources like Netflix label the Starscream arc as "Season 3" because of its having been produced separately from the main 13 episodes of Season 2.o.supreme wrote:I always viewed the latter episodes with Starscream as part of season 2, always called it season 2 in all my comments...not sure where the confusion was...![]()
CN doesn't have anything to do with RID's budget. They just broadcast it. The 19-episode count came about because Season 2 was originally billed a standard 13-episode amount, and then six more episodes were later produced as the mini-series/TV event that we got last Fall.o.supreme wrote:I mean I know CN has cut budgets for shows short before due to lack of toy sales causing fewer episodes to get produced, or canceled them outright- but for once I would think this is not the case with RiD15. That may be true, but if CN decides for whatever reason (ratings etc...) they don't want to pick up the show for another season it ends there, end of story, doesn't matter how well its doing elsewhere, unless Discovey Family were to pick it up... which I doubt would happen
TFA was distributed on all different networks around the world, but when CN in the U.S. ended it, it ended for everyone...the point is CN has been notorious for ending really good shows that both they themselves have produced, and ones they've merely broadcast.

True, but that wasn't the case here. Season 2 aired its full original run, and then got a bonus batch of six more eps later (which aired on Teletoon in Canada before they aired on CN in the U.S., btw).o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:CN doesn't have anything to do with RID's budget. That may be true, but if CN decides for whatever reason (ratings etc...) they don't want to pick up the show for another season it ends there, end of story, doesn't matter how well its doing elsewhere, unless Discovey Family were to pick it up... which I doubt would happen
The difference there is that Animated was made directly by Cartoon Network Studios (in co-production with a few Asian animation studios). CN had the full power to kill its production because they owned and controlled Animated's production, whereas RID is made wholecloth by Hasbro Studios.o.supreme wrote:TFA was distributed on all different networks around the world, but when CN in the U.S. ended it, it ended for everyone...the point is CN has been notorious for ending really good shows that both they themselves have produced, and ones they've merely broadcast.
If you recall what happened with Beware the Batman. CN pulled the plug on airing that show after just 11 episodes had aired, but that show was not produced by CN itself. Rather, it was produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment (separate but related companies from CN itself), who had completed the show's 26-episode Season 1 production, and who managed to find alternative venues to get the rest of the season released to its viewers.
CN may have been able to stop that show from airing in full on its channel, but had no power in preventing the full season from being made in the first place, since its production was out of CN's hands. As RID is likewise made by a separate company from CN, it's in a similar position as Beware the Batman was (albeit, a much better case since RID has been allowed to continue airing on CN), in which CN can't stop RID's full seasons from being made after they're ordered. CN could choose to stop airing the show mid-season, but the rest of the season would still exist even in a yet-to-be-aired format.

Actually that is a perfect example, Beware the Batman did not get any other channel to air its remaining episodes, instead, perhaps because of some contractual obligation, CN "aired" the remaining 15 during the middle of the night on adult swim, when they knew very few people if anyone would be watching. Also two other very popular Warner/DC shows (Young Justice & Green Lantern) got canceled by CN because "toys were not selling"...thankfully the fandom has been heard in the case of YJ and after 6 years, and a ton of miracles, it is getting a 3rd season on Netflix.
But these are just a couple of examples, CN has been known as "The Place where Good Cartoons go to Die" for sometime. Fortunately it appears Hasbro will be going another direction, as it normally does about every 3 years, so they wont have to worry about wondering if CN will pick up another season or not, I'm sure season 3 will have a proper ending. I can only hope that whatever the next mainstream Transformers Animated series is, that Hasbro does not continue to partner with CN...too much bad history there. If they are smart, they will partner with Netflix.
