If you have..

1. Clicked on the RPG Rules and Guidlines thread, and

2. Clicked your keyboard's pagedown key (8-9 times) until you saw in bold HOW TO JOIN THE ACTION then you, ShadowStrike, may...

3. Cut and past the paragraph below it in a PM to me with your questions on "how to join the action".

It's generally suggested that a new player try a canon character, from the original G1 show/comic/toyline first, because they have established personalities you can build on, and are known to the other characters. A lot of fan-created character suffer from a sense of "Who are you and why should I care?", which is unfortunate but still going to be a problem. Once you gain confidence playing an existing character or two, you can try making on of your own.

viewtopic.php?f=180&t=33472 gives the list of the available canon characters. I don't know which ones you like, but I beleive I gave a rundown of the various interesting options a while ago on this thread. There's also a number of pre-made non-canon Decepticons, listed here: viewtopic.php?f=179&t=13092

If you don't know that much about a given character, I reccomend TFU.info, transformers.wikia.com, and of course wikipedia.

I don't want to seem selfish, but here are a few suggestions I'd like to give, to help some storylines along:
One of the Autobot pretenders, a natural choice for Jazz's upcoming operation to crack the secret of the Decepticon pretender technology.
The ever-welcome master of the airwaves, Blaster.
The spy Punch and his Decepticon counterpart Counterpunch.
Sandstorm, who was last seen as a Decepticon prisoner.
One of the Combaticons, Brawl Blastoff or Vortex, who are just now being deployed to the front, while plans for their combined mode are being finalised.
The Contructicons Bonecrusher, Mixmaster and Scavenger, whom I've been NPCing for a while now. I've been told I do a good Bonecrusher, but Scrapper is my character and I'd get more satisfaction out of roleplaying with another person.
The Stunticon Drag Strip, who's heading to Earth.
Barrage or Kickback of the Insecticons, off on a secret mission offworld.

I'm thinking about trying to pick Blaster up, but I could do with a bit of background on him. eg. A brief account of his recent history, what role does he play and what was his character like, was he closer to the cartoon or Marvel comic version?

Hi, just checking to see if it's OK to move the Ark 13 over to the Solar System thread yet, or if the Mods had specific plans as to how things should proceed with regards to the Earth mission and who lands first.

1. Has anyone heard from cryhavok lately? He hasn't been posting for a while.

2. With the idea of Bruticus being deployed becoming very possible, and me being one of the Combaticons, does anyone know how to play as a Gestalt? Do you just control your character's part, or does the team leader take over?

1. He just posted yesterday.

2. Bruticus does not exist in the game at this time.

2) Gestalt rules haven't come up in a while, but there's a good chance they could soon if the LSC make it to Tagan and if Devestator gets wheeled out. We'll have to see what the mods have to say then. I personally would be in favor of a round-robin approach where each of the players gets a turn posting as the big guy, but that might be difficult to reconcile with peoples posting schedule. A compromise might be to have the leader make the posts, but with the component PCs voicing their desires from inside the merged mind, so the Leader adjusts actions to compensate.

Is there some reason you felt the need to answer these questions after I already answered them? When the issue of combiners comes up we will inform everyone as to how they will be played.

Sorry about my fairly stupid questions. Anyway, given that the Thanatos reached the solar system so quickly, I'd say yes. The Milky way thread just refers to the rest of the galaxy. Also is it OK to have the Combaticons start posting in Tagan? They should be there by now.
