On the subject of the RPG, can Diaclones be applied for, if only as fanmades? Obviously the drivers would have to be omitted but who needs those anyway?

I'm interested in joining the RPG and I was wondering how character applications for canon characters are handled. I like the Insecticons and as there is some discussion of a plot arc involving them that would require some players to run them, I figured I might as well help out and run one or two.

The rules and whatnot give detailed instructions for how to put in a character application for a fanmade character, but as far as I can tell, don't detail exactly how to apply for a canon one. Do I just copy the profile just like a fanmade, or can I simply post a link to it? Or is there some other procedure?

As a newbie, would it be a good idea to claim the three original Insecticons, so that the team would have a solid core and the plot planned for them could be advanced, or would it be better to stick to just one?

Generally it's recommended a new player choose one or 2 characters to start, then play with them for a few weeks to see how they do with them. Then they can apply for more. I'm not sure what the deal is with taking multiple members of the same "team" though.

Canon characters are applied for the same way as fanmades are. Tech spec stats are used and the missing stats used in the RPG are made up by the player and are changed or approved by the mods. Generally the best way to go is using one of the profiles published by either Marvel or Dreamwave as a basis. A lot of this information can usually be found on this site but that function seems to be down. If you do a little searching on the internet you should be able to find what you are looking for though.

We discourage people from taking multiple characters on a team. We want players to interact with each other and taking characters on the same team limits that to an extent.

Also as a general statement to everyone, questions about the rules and mechanics of the game and the application process should be answered by mods so there is no confusion about the answers.

I got a question... I'm new at the RPG Dark Legacy, and I was wondering how do I pop into the Heights? I was told in the Registration to join in but I don't know how without feeling like a fool..

Even though it doesn't appear like it, there should still be a large force of decepticon warriors in and around the base, who are either generics there to fill the space or previously played characters that have gone silent. It's not too much of a stretch that your character was in the original attack that took the base, and has been mingling with them ever since.

The trick I find with Decepticons is to deal with middle management, as the big-league guys tend not to take well to being asked by grunts "What do I do now sir?". They have a mix of ego and temper that makes this a bad move on the new guys part. Actually, my character Scrapper is about the right rank, and is currently investigating something that a scouty type would be handy for.

On that note, I'd like to extend a call for others to bring characters into Tagan if they can, as it seems a large portion of the characters there are about to fly off on a mission leaving the few remaining characters alone. In particular there are 3 Constructicons already in Tagan: Bonecrusher (The strong angry one), Mixmaster (The crazy one that can make pretty much anything), and Scavenger (the Underdog). I'm NPCing them but would happily give them up to new players.

I would have hoped you would know how to play before applying.
I suggest reading up on the threads, the rules and the game history and notes to try and figure things out. Your character is a Decepticon in the Decepticon military. She is stationed in the recently taken territory of the Tagan Heights. She can be on patrol or something similar if you want. You may consider rethinking your character if you don't think she would work in the game after you figure out how it works.
