I do think I may have a point about Disney marketing characters and not technology - where as with Star Trek at the moment it's spaceships that sell.
But we shall see if I'm correct or not about that over time. But they may have a plan - maybe they might concentrate on Spacecraft more for Rogue One and character a bit less.
I'll be interested to see how that plays out over the medium term though... otherwise if there is a lack of Spacecraft to market people might start looking elsewhere for their spacecraft fix like Star Trek or even older material like Stargate or Babylon 5.
(New) Battlestar Galactica is a very character driven show - and yet that has a heck of a lot of space craft merchandise despite that. not to mention the Alien/s Franchise is hardly "about" space craft and yet the majority of the merchandise is Aliens and Space ships with the odd marine or Ripley figure thrown in. Even Newt's Family's crawler has a toy now.
So I hope Star Wars feeds my desires for spacecraft toys overtime too... as I won't be buying any Kylo Ren dolls any time soon.

You have seriously got to watch that. Takes a while to get going but it ends up being a damn good series.
