Runabout/Runamuck isn't that big an improvement on Side Swipe, but he does incorporate the new Cyber Key gimmick the best out of the Armada retools next to Blurr. Plus his new weapon rocks!

What is unfortunate is that I would like to display Runamuck in alt mode, but the key is problematic with the gimmick, and you can only display either the micron or the weapon. I wish he could display all his stuff better

I scored something really great off eBay today for a really sweet price! I'll leave it a surprise for now, It'll be here next week. Description said it just had light shelf wear and slightly loose ball joints, but it looked perfect in the pictures and better yet appears complete! Even if it's isn't complete, or even slightly broken, I paid less than half of the going eBay price on incomplete ones missing major parts. It was in one of those listings that lists a dozen or so things and you have to pick what you want so it probably got overlooked. I almost didn't notice it. Can't wait!

Well, the mold was never intended to have both, so...
How does Skidmark look cruising alongside him?
As for the key... I think he's one where you can slip the key in partway without depressing the trigger, but I'm not sure.

Runamuck may not improve on the Side Swipe mold mechanically, but I think his headsculpt, engine block, and deco help the looks a fair bit.

Well, if Skidmark (official English name courtesy of the story "Force of Habit") looks good next to him, I would suggest displaying them side by side in altmode, with the booster/rifle piece in Runamuck's back.

I loved that functionality on the Cyclonus original, got to say though, that Blurr remold looks pretty slick

the problem with Blurr is he has no Minicon ports anywhere, unlike the other 3. So this was an improve based on the gun tabs and a hollow spot on his micron

Something I just remembered to ask about. I've heard that Galaxy Force Optimus Prime corrected the original's wonky pelvis ratchets (the ones for back-and-forth motion of his legs; on the original red and blue version at least, they don't catch properly). Since you have that version, can you verify?

And if it's true, would you be willing to open up his pelvis so we can see if it's possible to mod the original?

My Optimus does stand fine, no give in his hips or anything like that!

From what I hear it does seem to have been a widespread problem that his pelvis ratchets don't catch properly; I know mine has that problem. He can still stand and pose, but not as well as he ought because his hips don't lock properly.
Did yours' legs click when you moved them back and forth at the hip?

And it sounds like yours is definitely working properly, D-Max. Would you be willing to open his pelvis up to give people a look?

If memory serves, they clicked, the noise was very satisfying. I don't recall any issues but I always had luck avoiding qc issues like that. Well apart from when I had Revenge of the Fallen Superion and his misasembled legs.

my Jetfire arrived today! He is a pretty solid toy, I love the jet mode! The robot mode feels strangly unbalanced though, with the hollow torso but the huge plane chunks and backpack, but he still feels really solid.

Luckily he has those big, solid lower legs and feet to support the uneven upper body. It's one of my favorite molds, even though I don't own him right now. I still wish there was a red/white/black variant.

Sorting through what is still boxed in my collection and I open this box, and I see parts of Energon Tidal Wave.

Now, I know I've set up the A/E/C stuff so some how I've collected a double.

Also Dark Crumplezone, Cybertron Mudflap, Cybertron Dark Scorponok, and a few other figures. Don't remember picking them up (though I do remember intending to kitbash Mudflap) but hey ... they're extras.

That is a great figure, the only thing I don't like about him is the wheels in the legs. They should have found a way to turn them sideways or something.
