Thoughts on the Reissue/KO Headmasters

Agree to disagree and move on.
I love the passion, but know myself that while KOs take advantage of HASBRO's/TT's intellectual properties, I cannot feel badly about someone creating something that is no where near being on their radar.
And no even though my earlier statement said I care (sarcasm-joking), I really know I can't stop it, so I don't need to waste my time caring, on whether or not HASBRO/TT re-issues some of the more expensive and rare TFs. They will if they desire, and I will have what I have. The market drives them, and my collection drives me.
I love having the originals of 8 of these HM heads, but I really like the option of having a set that does not break the bank, and that I can fiddle with, and not be too afraid to break.
WHich I can see is why some people want to the rare TF re-issues. I understand, sort of.

Thank you! Finally, someone gets it! I don't understand how it's so difficult to grasp the situation as it is. And this really is how it is.
If Hasbro truly cared (and they don't) they'd do something about it. I'm glad they don't, btw. But in the mean time, I really don't want to see posts from people that say "I bought it. I regret it. I hate the KO makers. I hate their product, even though I covet it."
That's so incredibly nonsensical that it just makes your brain hurt. Everyone's a hypocrite to some degree, it's part of human nature, but most of those people just do it and shut up.
How hard is it to just shut up?

No. It's better if I take the hypocrite stance. Complain, complain, complain.

Usually I can take the much clearer black and white path through life but in this instance I've taken the hypocrite stance. Sigh.

Or you could just relax and say "You know what? This is a win win situation for me, really. I saved money and got my dream bots."

Yep, I could, but I care about the big picture and how it affects Hasbro and Tomy. But I also love all things Transformers, hence why it's a dilemma to me.

It's best to assume every link I post is NSFW, and every post I make is just me taking the piss.

I heard this KO set is very nice quality and compares to the orignials
So.. I also heard the KO set will be KO'ed in the near future and be available for very cheap maybe 20$ for the 6 jap special edition heads, maybe 20-30 for 100 10 heads in the set! If i get any secure details regarding this I will open up a pre order for them

A KO of a KO huh? Interesting. I'd be most worried about quality.

Loki God Of Mischief wrote: The point I'm trying to make is that one would assume that Hasbro/TakTomy uses KOs and third party toys to gauge the interest in the fandom. If the bootleggers are using molds that they still have they're going to be reissued. The way I see it HasTakTom uses the KOs as a test market.
I don't think they do that at all. I'm sure there are more effective ways of gaging fandom interest. And while there may be a vocal crowd on these forums that want Headmaster Warriors reissued, it's barely a drop in the bucket of the total fandom. I'm sure the vast majority of the fandom (which are casual fan) have never even heard of a Headmaster Warrior, much less want one. Especially since these are toys that weren't even released outside of Japan. So, that right there all but guarantees they wouldn't be re-issued by Hasbro. That leaves TakaraTomy. While anything is a possibility with them, I can't see any way that a Headmaster Warrior re-issue would be worth their time. We're talking about an incredibly niche group here. Which means even if they were re-issued, they'd probably have to charge a good deal of cash just to break even. Of course, that's assuming they even know where the molds are or if they even still exist. It's a good chance they don't.
And, for those that said the KOs wouldn't affect the value of the originals, you were dead wrong. Five Headmaster Warriors (no Shuffler) were sold last week on ebay for less than $100 each. I'd say that qualifies as a serious diminished return for those that purchased Headmaster Warriors before the KOs were released.

FT MAX is next, and then hopefully those sweet cassettes can finally be made, The four Dinocassettes - Gurafi, Noizu, Dairu and Zauru, also known by the names Graph, Noise, Dial and Zaur.
After that, Black Zarak?????

Were those authentic originals? Because the Japanese exclusive KOs/reissues are lacking the Takara stamp. So that is a sure fire way to distinguish the original from the KO. I'm sure the KOs have affected the market somewhat, but those originals will still fetch a decent price. Heck, I predict the KO/reissue ones will be going for a decent amount in the future. They each go for at least $20 now.
