Let me add one obvious choice. Good old G1 Optimus Prime. With LONG smokestacks. Include the ortiginal Bumblebee too! However, make it SHINY all over. All grays should be chrome, yellos, gold, reds, shiny ruby, and blues, shiny saphire. It would be a 150$ platinum set. I would insta-buy this!
Come see my latest creation, the COMPLETE combiner team, Scorponok and his Pretenders, forming SHELLSHOCK

Well pretenders since they never got an update save Oilmaster, but he nowhere near affordable for many, and Liokaiser because that toy is so highly sought after. I may be wrong in assuming he is rare, but like the pretenders something like him has never really been done again since, and I for one would equally appreciate an update or a reissue. The pretenders were kind of my main thing, since they are nearly the only idea used in the 80's toys not updated now, save powermasters, and even then those aren't something I really desire as a reissue and more as an update. :BOT:

But as we are realizing, the updates do not necessarily have the gimmicks the g1 toys had. The whole point of Powermaster Prime is that he is a small prime cab who can connect with his trailer (and even an extra trailer) to form a super mode. The update doesnt do that. I am ok with that since the G1 toy which has those gimicks is still out there. Hence why I feel there is both a place for the update and the reissue and one does not cancel out the other's importance. Your pretender example is also good because they did try to update the pretender concept with Thunderwing. But it didnt do it justice to just have a small drone that can detach from the bigger transformable robot.

I would love reissues or even entirely updated versions of the Turbomasters and Predators, I only had Scorch and Snare as a kid but loved the whole line.

Updated Pretenders could be fun.

Also updated Seacons!

It is hard to explain and really talk about updates vs reissues. I usually prefer updates, and some reissues are ok. It's just that some updates do exclude stuff, and that some reissues are of toys that really are not much fun to do some stuff with, like how PM Prime was a brick, as was Overlord and Sixshot, yet the former's update now no longer does powermaster, and the latters have not had updates, so yeah. I'm just not a fan of tons of G1 80's reissues, i usually prefer the updates, though some are not bad, and usually of characters that have not gotten new figures or concepts in a while :BOT:

I think if these could have happened, they would have already. Something's clearly up with the molds making them not realistic to use. Whether that's damage, cost, they're buried with the Ark of the Covenant, or if they're truly lost - doesn't matter, I just don't think these are happening unless they reverse engineer them KO style. If they did go that route, hopefully Mirage would get some minor re-tooling for that fragile waist joint.

Of the five here, I'm honestly surprised Takara never jumped on a Raiden reissue. Doesn't take a mountain of evidence to know that Japan loves them some bullet trains. That's another one where I suspect there may be a mold issue. Those designs are as old as most of the S1 cast's are too.

Realy? But he was first issued in 1987 as part of Headmasters. Was he designed as far back as 1983 in a pre tranformers era? Also, the individual components were rereleased a few years later (in 1990) as part of the zone toyline, so he would be a more recently used G1 mold compared to the rest.

EDIT: Daaaaaamn son, you know your stuff. Yeah, he does go as far back as the rest. I found this tidbit:
Raiden began life as the Diaclone "Trainbot", released as part of the "Real and Robo" subline. One of the few Diaclone toys not initially ported over for release in Hasbro's Transformers line, the Trainbots eventually found their way into the Transformers universe a few years later when they were released by Takara, with the addition of waist and back armor panels for their combined mode, as part of the Headmasters line, available only in Japan.

I am surprised the Encore line hasnt had new releases since Fort Max. Takara is pretty good at keeping molds. They even reissued old Microchange toys from 1983 such as MC08 and 09 for their microman lines.

If you think that's cool, this blog post at Transformerland goes into some other cool details of the '83/'84 Diaclone stuff.
