I recently sold my Planet X Swoop in favour of Toyworld offerings. I really want to support TW as I think their Dinobots fit perfectly into a Classics/Generations display (the combining aspect is a bonus for those that will) but I can only see myself owning them if my Lotto numbers come up!
With all the Combiner Wars stuff and others gaps to fill I wondered if would be truly content with dropping these guys and grabbing the Platinum G1-esque decoed AoE Dinobots as my Dinos..?
PM ME PLEASE!-

For a classics collection, I think ToyWorld would be your best bet. The new head on the Platinum set are nice but that doesn't take away their movie aesthetic.

Luckily, he comes with a faceplate to hide them.

That said, you pay for quality. I have the Toyworld and FP sets and I'm very happy with both. I'd be ASTONISHED is HasTak ever made a set of voyagers with matching colours for the dinos. Then again, I didn't think they'd make combiners like they are either.

The moulds are fun (I have the SDCC set) and the classics series are filled with mismatching styles (especially when you get into 3rd party stuff).

I didn't mean that they were bad at all. I actually really like them. I just don't think they fit into a classic collection, at least not my own.

If you disassemble his shoulders, he seems to have unused ratchet parts? At the moment the rotation is being handled by the smaller ratchets on the side of the torso, and the combiner joint seemed to be using just 2 simple slots. Any ideas? I kinda think their mainly for pushing against the shoulder connectors for a tighter fit, but that seems excessive.
His "wings" has 2 5mm ports on the inside; for future kibble attachments? Doesn't seem to be of any use at the moment.
As with the other members of the team, the red pieces of his gun are detachable.
Mysterious joint under the combiner feet; too small to be used as arm-rocket-shield-gauntlets. Seriously there are so many opportunities to use the combiner hands/feet as some sort of extra weaponry/armor but they're just too loose/have the wrong connectors
Extra: You can attach the combined mode head's extra antenna pieces to the dino's head to emulate the horned look of movie Grimlock. At least this way you don't have to worry about them getting misplaced while in Dino mode.

I put his feet on the sides of his hips when in dino mode. The hands hook onto the back of the feet. The sword goes on the calf connector.

Ya, he is as I thought. the goofiest of these dino modes, but he kinda should be derpy. The bot mode surely makes up for it. The thigh swivel isn't impeded by the lower leg, like on Roar. Which is good.
I'm happy with these guys so far.

What defect? Is one of his robot shoulders backwards (meaning they used the other piece?) Mine is that way - his right shoulder uses the left shoulder's part, and I wonder if yours was the other way around! (Like this: https://instagram.com/p/2lp6pLLSgP/)
I also broke one of Grimshell's left fingers because they didn't clip the mold spruce behind the knuckle properly. Given I'm in Malaysia we don't really have exchange policies per se.

The folding panel on his left arm that you open to get the fist out was miss molded so it just fell off all the time. Looks like they need to tighten up QC a bit.
Did you buy yours locally or from Asia?

Locally, from a toy collector shop. Malaysian culture is just such that we prefer to inspect the goods at the shop before buying. Apparently, we've also got a lot of credit card fraudsters so a lot of international shops don't ship to us. It's also understood that if anyone practiced return policies it would be abused much more here. E-commerce is understood but not preferred. For buying pre-owned toys we prefer Cash On Delivery - after inspecting the goods in person, payment is made in cash. It's only when it's out of state that we consider mail.
That said, I've not actually tried asking if I can return it, but I consider it a small cosmetic matter, and a defect that makes him rare.
But to answer your question, yes to both, because Malaysia is in Asia.

Almost there...

Alternate arm configuration: Just push the dino head back as you do bot mode, have the chrome wings slightly angled to accomodate the Dino head, and BAM! Extra arm posability!

Not sure if this was ever mentioned in reviews, but you can store Snarl's tail in combiner mode at the back.
