What's taking Captured Prey, Toy Arena and BBTS so long to list pre-orders for TW Astrotrain and TW Fort Max? These Two toys have a release date of November 30 or sooner.

Sure I can head on over to Chimungmung.com and order them. But I don't want to pay those exspensive shippping fees and then wait almost a month for the package to arrive.

I'm scared to buy anything from TFSource because of the customers credit cards breach from a short while back.

Yes. I think at most by an inch. If DX9'S was 7-8 inches it would be awesome for classics. Gonna pass on both AT for now.

Just pre ordered this toy.

DX9 Astrotrain has a 9.4 inches robot height. While TW Astrotrain has a 8.9 inch tall robot mode.

Like the TW version better than the DX9 version.

As far as 3rd party not-TF toy prices goes. Think TW has some really low reasonable prices.

The ultimate example is ToyWorld's low price on their Astrotrain. $114 is very low for a 3rd MP Leader scale TF toy. If Takara sold a toy like this in Japan it would sell for around $150+. Probably the Hasbro USA TRU MP price would be around $90 + $8 in sales tax + gas prices if your TRU store is far away.

As far as 3rd prices goes, MMC Leader scale Hexatron sold for $139. Leader scale FT Quakewava sold for $139. So this Toyworld Leader scale Astrotrain toy costing only $114 is super low reasonably priced.

I cannot help but wonder if ToyWorld is price averaging over all of their figures. It seems unlikely that their sludge should cost as much as their astrotrain and yet, there they are - all the same price.

Who can say? One might be more or less complicated than the other. Or maybe they (or BBTS) has increased the price on Sludge based on the fact that he's a Dinobot and will be popular.

Strongly speculating, the cartoon colors will happen. Think TW did a MT strategy, Where they released the less desirable colors first, then the more desirable colors later.

Alt modes look excellent i like the way the train wheels look like turbines ? lol under the wings in shuttle mode ,they look pretty cool any way .

Robot mode is not my cup of tea at all though after classics AT who i liked but was a mix , i need a cartoon looking Astrotrain and DX9 is giving that out of the two.

I'm glad to see that visor is removable, but he has such a big backpack. The pics of his back are at an angle here, but when he was first shown months ago, a side shot showed that he has a LOT of junk in the trunk.

My thoughts exactly. Hope there is a way to deal with that chest plate.
As others have speculated, I suspect the recolor eventually.

I really like all 3 modes though, they nailed them all very, very well.

I am very impressed but what I look for the most in any astrotrain is the train mode and for such a well thought out figure, I dont get why they botched the front of the train with such a concave look. It's too bad. Those flaps dont give it any favors.

The flaps are called "smoke deflectors" and are a common element on steam engines.

AWESOME! So not only is this toy correct but the G1 version was also accurate. I love that train mode even more. I really hope this guy isnt prone to breaking though, there seem to be so many minute parts and flaps invovled.
