100% this. It’s so disappointing that they’re rereleasing a figure that wasn’t great even for its time and is nowhere near Studio Series standard. It’s such a cool design too. . .

While the figure is disappointing, I'm still glad for him. Because I wasn't collecting SS when the line started and missed out on Stinger. $40 with a crappy AoE re-release is still a pretty good price for Stinger as compared to eBay. Thankfully it looks like they are not releasing it on its own and its only real purpose was to be a Bee to face off against Stinger in the 2-pack.

I will fully support a new mold at some point in the future to get its own SS number and leave SS79 by the wayside.

I sold my Earthrise Cliff on Ebay a while ago, which I sort of kind of regret because of how high the aftermarket prices are for it now. I wouldn't mind having another Cliff, but I'm not a fan of those painted on windows, even if they are movie accurate. Kup does look a lot better than the original, but it's still a pass for me.

Or just overthink the mechanics behind them. Just because a supposed release would make sense given the logic, doesn't necessarily mean it will be true: Hasbro kinda shot themselves in the foot with deriving the BB SS ID's from the regular SS ones (I mean, they are re-releases in a sense), with High Octane Bumblebee and now ER Cliffjumper occupying possible slots for regular retail, leaving them empty in a sense.

Wondering if an astro train redeco will pop up in this line.

Kup looks better. Clifjumper also looks better - I cant see the jagged windscreen that the original figure has. could just be the anggle or a retool as it's pretty noticable on the original.

I dont really need a thrid Kup with having TR/TL but I'd probably go for him. cliffjumper will only be if on sale due to the figures size.

It's part of the fun. The numbers were what inspired my to start collecting Alternators, a line I otherwise would have had no interest in, even though the real-world designs were awesome.

I don't collect SS at all, but I love following the numbers. Of course, they could just take them all away, as many other TF toy series never had numbers; problem solved. If numbers aren't important, then why feature them prominently on the package is all I'm asking?

With the exception of Siege, G1 Arcee could have been the single character to unite them all. G1 Prime is close to touching them all, but only if you include Bee movie Prime which is sort of a cheat.

I don't think anyone is saying they aren't important, and they do probably serve some type of organizational purpose for Hasbro internally. I think there are widely differing levels of the importance Hasbro gives them as oppose to the importance we give them. Like on a scale of 1-10, Hasbro probably gives them a 5 for importance. We probably give them an 11.

Hasbro changes plans or misses a number like WFC-K36 and just goes: Whoops, oh well.

We see a missed number and go scouring the internet to see if we can divulge who/what the missing figure could be.

Because most collector-oriented toylines have them, and a quite a few Japanese toylines as well; even if it's just a simple "1" or "2" for checklist purposes, it still counts. It all originated with Popy's and later Bandai's Chogokin line, so if you're looking for someone to blame for all this, they're the ones

Hasbro doesn't normally do this, so there are still some teething problems with how they go about this.

I'm well aware , even Takara originally numbered their Transformers, whereas Hasbro in the west did not. It's not about blame its just; either do it right, or don't do it at all, simple ;) .

I mean I get even the best plans don't work out . Yeah WFC-K36 was likely an ER Starscream repack, but... is "whoops" the best they can come up with? To this day I have a complete separate set of DVD's for Transformers SuperLink, and one for Transformers Energon, because when the version for broadcast in English markets was being produced someone basically "whoops", and missed an episode that they thought would be "no big deal"... :BANG_HEAD:

The back of Cliffjumper’s box shows the figure without the clear blue plastic windows painted, interestingly enough. Kup is correctly represented, though, with a painted windscreen and “wrinkles” painted on. I know nothing is promised, but I think the likelihood of seeing Cliffjumper as depicted on the back of his Buzzworthy Bumblebee box released in the Studio Series proper as SS86-13 is way more than negligible.

What, per se, do you think is suspect now about the SS86 listings for Ironhide and Arcee?

There were already suspicions and rumors that SS86 Arcee would just be ER Arcee with new paint, I feel like this not only confirms that but also makes it likely that Ironhide won't be a new mold either, despite what some people are speculating.

What I find really weird is that SS86 Arcee appears to possibly getting both a Buzzworthy packaging release and a regular SS86 release based on the retail assortments that were leaked.

Meanwhile my closest Target still has 2 Kingdom Arcees peg warming since June. That should be fun with 2 more potential releases of her in the future.

That was confirmed a while back for SS86 Arcee, so there is no surprise there. It was unlikely there’d be a new mold for Ironhide as well. I suspect we may just get some additional/alternate accessories, or maybe a slight retool to the feet for the sake of the tailgate in vehicle mode.

How bizarre, because the packaging shot with the clear plastic windows looks so much better than the actual figure with the painted windows. I wonder why this was done? As I said in my earlier post, the painted windows are the main thing putting me off this new Cliff.
As for 1986 Arcee and Ironhide, yeah I'm not expecting anything more than repaints like these ones, but at the very least I hope Ironhide has a few differences, like fixing the feet. I more than likely will by 1986 Ironhide regardless if it ends up happening, and then sell my Earthrise Ironhide and Prowl set. I just hope the aftermarket price for those two doesn't go down too much from what it is now.

I'm hoping Cliffjumper doesn't have clear plastic now since the windows are painted, I know better though. The more I see Kup the more it'll be hard to pass on it, it's not really a mold you need to double dip on.

Don't count on the "no clear plastics."
I bet the clear plastics remain, and they are painted over.

Cliffjumper they can probably get away without clear plastic, Kup will probably be more obvious if we could see if he still has his energon treats and if they're clear or not.

I'm confused, how is it adding precedent if this is for the Bumblebee line and not the actual Studio Series line? Do we know cliff is coming to the SS line too?

Regardless, I'm sure we all knew what Arcee and Ironhide would be, Cliff's existence doesn't really change anything.

I'm confused, how is it adding precedent if this is for the Bumblebee line and not the actual Studio Series line? Do we know cliff is coming to the SS line too?
Do we know for certain Cliff is also getting an SS86 release? Not currently, no, but considering so far only 1 of the other 12 SS figures getting released in this Bee line is completely exclusive to this line so far, it feels like a safer bet to make than not.

I would argue the opposite. Mainly from the perspective of how would they release a regular SS86 Cliff in addition to the Buzzworthy release for Target? We already saw the case breakdowns for all of SS for next year and Cliff wasn't there. I can't see him being added to the wave cases after the list got leaked without also popping up in the other leaks/rumors. Would they make him a Target regular SS exclusive in addition to a Buzzworthy one? Let another retailer have the regular Cliff release as an exclusive? None of the ways to release him make any sense to me.

Instead of looking at the the known Buzzworthy releases as a set of 12, I would just isolate the 3 that we learned of from the Buzzworthy line itself, SS74, SS79 and Cliff. Those were the only 3 to be potential future releases since all the others were already out and had a number already. SS74 came out regularly, SS79 did not. So we are really just looking at a 50/50 shot based on the 2 previous releases that showed up in Buzzworthy first.

I hope I'm wrong for anyone who wants a better shot at this Cliff than just Target in the US, but it just doesn't make sense to me unless they changed the wave after Perceptor/Wheeljack/Brawn/Ratchet without any of the leakers finding out and nobody finding a store code for the item. If it would be due in wave 2, those code would be in somebody's system by now, and likely to have been found.

Now watch him show up in a surprise revision wave case in a Walmart somewhere tomorrow.
