Relax, it's just speculation and paranoia. It tends to happen on the first day of hefty news.

I'd wager you're right and he either has black forearms or has them bent in line with the camera so you can't see. Partsforming of that degree (entire forearms) would be ridiculous at this point, especially since they've mastered the hips=elbows technique.

Well two reasons. Firstly, someone at the show wrote that it looked a lot like his forearms were not part of the other transformers but did appear to have a secondary transformation aside form just being arms. Secondly, none of the extra hands and feet were integrated as part of the transformation for any of the other combiner figures, it is mostly a G1 upgrade. In the case of G1 devastator, it was his whole forearms you had to attach and just as with the other combiner wars, they may be having those same parts partform as it was with G1.

Does that mean his hips are fake too, just like G1?

Not trying to start something, just saying to everyone. You can't really upgrade AND have a warts and all remake.

Personally, I hope for integrated parts of some kind.

Again, you can see scavenger's treads up against the side of Devastator, they don't turn into arms.

To me it looks like Mixmaster is actually correct, except that somehow the cab has been rotated around to the heel on a swivel. Or he has similar mechanics to the original, where you could rotate the cab all the way to the back if you pulled the legs out far enough. I'm going with mistransformation.

Glad the Titan Constructicons have individual robot modes.

What's the deal with that guy blocking Titan Devastator? Did Hasbro pay him to stand in front of the toy. So it would be impossible to get a full clear pic of the toy?

Been out of the loop due to some work travel but wanted to stop in just to say - hey, this Devastator looks neat-o. I'm pretty excited for it. I feel like a Deluxe CW Prowl might just have a hole to squeeze into based on how big this dude looks. We'll see! Really fun times in the hobby and looking forward to not roadin' it up next week.

i REALLY don't understand why people want the forearms integrated into the figures.. that just doesn't make any sense to me.

these figures are simple enough as it is and have a lot of restrictions as it is.. why throw in a giant forearm that they have to work around and risk ruining the look and the articulation of the figure, just so you can have integrated forearms? i'm sorry, but that just sounds dumb.

the forearms and the chest plate should be separate pieces. doing so, like i said above, will allow for better looking figures and better articulation.

so, i just can't grasp why people are bummed and even disappointed in parts-forming forearms.

Idk, about others, but I like not having parts that can get lost (or worse yet, do nothing) when separated. I get that it's a set and a lot of people keep him in Devastator mode for display, but to me that's not the full experience. And it's not like tread forearms can't happen (as demonstrated by Hercules).

I'd also posit the question, what then do the forearms and chest piece do when not as Devastator? Extra trailers? Weapons even more unruly than CW hand/feet? Or do they just serve as articulation upgrades like some third parties do for G1 Devs?

how old are you? that is literally the worst excuse for not doing something like this.. "because it could get lost"? come on man.. we're not children.. invest in a parts box or something to keep them in.. i'm sorry, i just REALLY hate the "it could get lost" excuse.. i'm REALLY happy that, with the masterpiece figures they didn't compromise any of the alt modes to store the weapons. they just added a plug on the top of the datsuns, and lambos. primes gun stores, but not to the detriment of the figure. it doesn't hinder articulation or the look.

i would REALLY REALLY REALLY prefer not to have tread arms.. it looks dumb on hercules.. the treads on the shoulders are a unique iconic look for G1 devastator.. they should be where they're supposed to be, they shouldn't be making up the forearms.. i wouldn't want starscreams wings on his legs.. not having the treads at the shoulder connection would be like G1 prime not having windows on his chest or prowl not having his door wings, it's just wrong.

i'd also argue that, for me, it's more enjoyable to add parts to figures.. like the city commander armor.. putting that together is fun.. or fire convoy, that's also fun.

there are more strong positives of having the forearms be separate pieces than there are for them being integrated.. i'd MUCH rather have a better articulated, more accurate figure and have to deal with two extra pieces than having a further simplified figure with more kibble, less articulation, less accuracy, and no extra parts.

there are really easy ways to make the forearms integrate to their alt modes as accessories without compromising the figures themselves. turn them into trailers.. separate them them and attach them to the back of the figures.. i don't care how they do it because i'd just store them in a parts box (the place i put stuff so it doesn't get lost). .. oh.. and we're talking about rather large pieces, not a tiny small piece like MP bumblebee's license plate. if you can't keep track of giant forearms and hands.. i don't know what to tell you.

i know people like hercules.. but his shoulders are awful looking.. G1 devastators shoulders are iconic, hercules shoulders don't resemble that. it's that simple. MT Giant look fantastic.. THAT is the way devastator should be done.

Micromaster Quickmix from the Energon/Universe line was my first figure and since 2007 I've always wanted a Devastator that rocked. Energon and universe lines offerings didnt hit the mark (and the less about ROTF the better). But this monster of a mech might just be the answers to my dreams!

If he sucks however I'll be DEVASTATED! 8-}

I don't think he's serious. :P If he is, then there's nothing wrong with a little competition!

It was mostly tongue-in-cheek, since I saw a lot of people suddenly talking about it on my twitter feed. But at the same time, it's kind of a bad precedent to set to offer bounties on photos like this. Seeing as how we haven't ALREADY gotten several decent photos of the figure, this is likely a retailer/distributor type of display, which usually comes with an NDA or at least some rules disallowing photos. It can be for lots of different reasons, non-final product/not ready for offical release, etc, but it's usually taken pretty seriously. So the site is basically asking someone to break those rules and risk getting tossed out/banned for a $50 payday. I absolutely understand the desire to have an exclusive look at something to draw traffic, but I disagree that this is a good way to go about it. It'll be on display at ToyFair most likely, we just have to be patient and wait a couple more weeks. Pushing for photos like this could cause Hasbro to react by severely limiting what they show in the future. I'm as excited to see this guy in all his glory as everyone else, but I can wait a few days for an official reveal.

Taking pics at Nürnberg ToyFair is forbidden, if they catch you, the company you're affiliated with lose their licence to attend, and you your job at the company.
The only way to be allowed to take pics or video is if you're part of the press and working on a special report for TV or the like. And even then companies can forbid you from showing pictures of what they display.

As for the new pic, it looks like the Mixmaster heel is pretty large and blocky, about the same as the other one. So it might be mistransformed. But saying that, this looks far more competently put together than Hasbro's usual stuff.
