Think Titan Metroplex is as perfect as it gets. While Titan Devastator has a bunch of flaws that I don't care for.

Absolutely. There's really only one reviewer everybody should watch, love, worship.
Here's a thought, how great would it be if Titan Devastator is available at Bot-Con?

The box says "Devastator." I'm buyin me a Devastator and he will displayed as such. Bending elbows for individual constructicons are a minor complaint. The final proportions (for a combiner figure no less), the poseability, a proper head sculpt, the snappy colors and good god that ridiculous size! What am I saying?! Continue the hate parade so there's more for me!

Seriously, CW Devastator looks good. A great display piece. If I would see him in a store, I would totally go for it.

I did get Masterpiece Starsaber, but he's just going to fight tiny bots & Combiner Wars Megatron if he ever gets here. I know I'm 30, it's choreography & practical story design... on a table, with action figures.
I'm so getting this guy, I mean, It's Devastator!!!

I was super excited for Metroplex as I never had any version of him or Fortress Maximus, and I was playing Fall of Cybertron a lot then too. I actually have the G1 Constructicons that survived my childhood and have always wanted a new version (just like I want to complete the G1 S1/TF:TM Bots/Cons in CHUG style). I never picked up the 3rd party as they were a little too high to justify for my expenses. So Devastator holds a little more weight on the nostalgia side of things for me which gives him the edge.Tsutsukakushi wrote:While i'll be buying Titan Devastator. This is a must-buy for me. Those 3rd party versions might as well not even exist, as far as my budget goes. This version will already be one of the most expensive TFs or TF sets I've ever bought, but how can I NOT have this beast in my display?

If the hands were molded in the same plastic as the forearms, then it might have been cheaper to do that than molding them in a different color. And leaving them unpainted is cheaper than painting them purple.warzon3 wrote:I can't see how they saved any money to NOT do the purple fists.

Then they could have just thrown the hands in with the mold for the other purple plastic pieces? No?
Gosh, I would hope Takara isn't going to paint the hands purple, that would be a paint chipping nightmare on all those moving parts.

Unless they wanted to keep each hand and forearm on the same sprue as more single a piece.warzon3 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If the hands were molded in the same plastic as the forearms, then it might have been cheaper to do that than molding them in a different color. To set the Takara version apart, I bet they will go as G1 cartoon accurate as possible.warzon3 wrote:Then they could have just thrown the hands in with the mold for the other purple plastic pieces? Or I could be wrong and they release a G2 color version even though they've been teasing green/purple.

Only after having first released the regular version of the mold, and as a super special edition version a la Buster Optimus Prime (who likewise came after a Takara release of the regular ROTF Leader Optimus mold).megatronus wrote:Takara DID remold over AoE Leader Prime...

Makes good business sense. First release the default version then tweak it a bit to get even more of out cash.
Same thing that happened with Encore 20 and 20A. Release with Diaclone style prototype arms and drums. Then release a slightly improved mold version of the original then after a year or so has past release an anime style colors including colored optics plus an anime head and redone box art but minus 6 biocards.
Yup, TT is known to do such looney thing a few years back then so not surprising they may just pull this stunt again.

its amazing that the stock photos are actually making this look BETTER than the in person photos.
the only REAL improvements this set needs are beefier arms for (with better elbows) for Longhaul, Mixmaster and Hook, and elbows for Scrapper. And perhaps a bigger head and better forearms for devastator mode, but thats kinda it.
