So you believe that Silverbolt scales with his team mates? The Protectobots are even worse, Streetwise and First Aid are really the only ones that scale with each other. Don't even get me started on the Combaticons! Hell, even the Stunticons don't scale well.ZeroWolf wrote:I believe the point was that the constructicons, in their little gift set, actually scale with each other like the others do in their own little groups.

Arctorro wrote:You keep spouting that you hate that Hasbro are taking traditionally non combining characters and making them combiners then vigorously defend your right to express that opinion. Sorted.

Yes, you're right, the differences are massive! They all had minor updates and look a lot like their G1 counterparts, Mixmaster doesn't.Burn wrote:Arctorro wrote:You keep spouting that you hate that Hasbro are taking traditionally non combining characters and making them combiners then vigorously defend your right to express that opinion. As Sabrblade has pointed out, the others WERE updated. Would you prefer I used the term "wrong" instead of "pointless"?

Then there are the Legends team members that Hasbro consider to be officially part of the teams. Does Powerglide scale well?
What I'm saying is; at no point does alt mode scale work in this line, or any line for that matter, so why was it so important to make one figure scale in alt mode. Hasbro made a choice, some like it and others don't, but as my point was, why say someone's opinion is pointless just because it is different.
When I said "smaller-scale ones" and "bigger-scale ones" in that post, it was never in regards to this concept of "scale", but was instead on reference to the intensity of the jobs performed by each type of cement mixer. Mining cement mixers are "bigger-scale ones" in that they are "giant-sized mixers that perform tasks on a much grander level of operation" (liking work on enormous development sites and complexes), whereas the "smaller-scale ones" are "not-nearly-as-giant-sized mixers that perform tasks on much lower level of operation" (like working on sidewalks and suburban parking lots). You saw me use a word and jumped to the wrong conclusion.Arctorro wrote:You keep mentioning alt mode scale.Sabrblade wrote:Though, Mixmaster is done as that kind of cement mixer not simply to be modernized, but also because that type of design is what the great big mining cement mixers look like, and all six of the Constructicons in this set are rendered as the giant mining versions of their respective altmode vehicles. The rear-mounted cement mixer design nowadays is used on the smaller-scale ones, while the bigger-scale mining ones use the front-mounted mixers. It's because they're all giant mining construction vehicles now that Mixmaster got his new look.
This Devastator toy is "SPECIAL", so much so that it was given all this extra level of attention that enabled the six Constructicons to be in scale with each other while the other teams got no such special treatment since they're not the big ticket extra special Titan giftset toy that Hasbro trying to promote and be a successful item so that we can get more Titan figures to come in the long run. Deluxes and Voyagers are already guaranteed to keep coming since they're the best-selling size classes of the brand, while Titan class toys have to be successful in order for them to keep being made. They're a bigger gamble and risk for Hasbro to take, so they have to be made to be extra worthwhile and appealing while the Deluxes and Voyagers can already hold their own on their own.Arctorro wrote:What I'm saying is; at no point does alt mode scale work in this line, or any line for that matter, so why was it so important to make one figure scale in alt mode.
I repeat:Arctorro wrote:Yes, you're right, the differences are massive! They all had minor updates and look a lot like their G1 counterparts, Mixmaster doesn't.
The cement mixer (particularly the kind used for mining) is the only one of the six whose real world appearance has changed so drastically over the years, while the designs of the other five have remained more or less consistent in their appearances to this day.Sabrblade wrote:All six of them are modern. It's just that the other five are based on vehicle types whose designs haven't changed as much in appearance as the look of that type of cement mixer has.

Modernization is a strange choice, too. I mean, it's not like a tape player where the entire concept is foreign and archaic to today's kids (although that's not stopping Regular Show); a "backwards" cement truck's function is going to be as obvious as a "frontwards" truck's.
Plus, we're already getting Concordes, Space Shuttles, and dinosaurs, so...

True. You do just kinda want to give the big lug a hug don't you? I would advise against it though.Sabrblade wrote:That reminds me.Cobotron wrote:Fixed a typo for you.Sabrblade wrote:... extra special Titan giftset toy that Hasbro trying to promote and be a successful item so that we can get more Titan figures to come in the long haul.![]()
People don't just complain about Mixmaster's new altmode, they also complain about Long Haul's (adorable) new robot mode.

To some, yeah. They don't like that it looks squat and chunky like this:ZeroWolf wrote:There's a problem with long hauls bot mode?
