Sabrblade wrote:The main reason it didn't happen is because Hasbro offered the head pretools to Fun Pub to let them release it instead of Hasbro. But, a Titan class box set was too expensive for Fun Pub to feasibly release for BotCon. As pricy as BotCon registration packages had become over the years, this set would have cost about $400 at the starting price before all of the other expenses would have been added to the package on top of the box set, which would have made the total final cost per package an ungodly ridiculous amount.
The other reason it didn't happen is because Fun Pub thought for sure that Hasbro would do it themselves, having produced the pretooled heads after all. Yet, to everyone's surprise, Hasbro did not do it. Nor Takara.

Quickmix:
Wedge:
Hightower:
Scoop:
Grimlock (likely would have been renamed):
Heavy Load:
Landfill (Version 1.0, new head based on the original)
G1 Landfill (individual component, just for fun, no new head):
Landfill (Version 2.0, uses the G1 Landfill component instead of Heavy Load, head based on G1 Landfill):
Landfill (Version 1.5, retains the Devastator head since no new combiner head was pretooled, adds some more green to the chest wings, this one best resembles what we would have most likely gotten)

But still, that's one obvious Select repaint that could be done easily by .
So why won't they?
Yes, but Tow-Line is made from a recent mold released this year. Same with the potential Side Burn. Combiner Wars Devastator is from 2015, eight years ago. The furthest back that Hasbro has gone to use any mold for Selects or whatnot has been 2019's Siege line, a mere four years ago.MeGrimlock78 wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:

Maybe it's not "won't," and is just "haven't yet." I mean, we are getting Tow-Line and more than likely Sideburn thanks to the wonder of Legacy...

But there is no excuse for a G2 yellow and purple version for not having been done yet.
They just have to take the superior Takara version and make it yellow and purple.
Rumor has it that the SDCC shiny chrome version was originally going to be a G2 yellow version, but it was changed to the chrome version because some higher-up(s) felt the G2 version would be too obscure and wanted the more mainstream green colors for the SDCC exclusive, since most SDCC exclusives were/are meant to have more mass appeal than most other exclusives.King Kuuga wrote:-Kanrabat- wrote:King Kuuga wrote:I don't see there being enough demand for a titan class Landfill that isn't even screen accurate to justify the manufacturing cost.

This I agree with wholeheartedly, and it surprises me that it's never happened.
