carytheone wrote:I think in the TF fandom, scale is a pointless argument. I think it boils down to this: if you like a figure, think it will fit into your collection and is worth the price of admission, then add it to your collection.
I was already on team Titan Devy, but those last few pictures really cemented it for me.
Pre-orders can't open soon enough. And at the end of the day, I'm the only one that will be handling/admiring my collection anyways.

You must hate how Combiner Wars has torsos who don't have limbs of their own and online-exclusive spare limb guys. Not sure about how you feel about the legends-class guys.
Sabrblade wrote:You're argument falls flat here since that giant Optimus toy is a Rescue Bot that doesn't even transform at all. Does it not make sense to photograph a toddler next to a preschool toy?Rated X wrote:carytheone wrote:MrBlack wrote:
NOW, this is a scale worth defending! Mega Ultra Class Optimus will destroy your puny Devastator!
That "official" pic pretty much confirms the intended audience for larger scale "simplified" figures. In the "official" pictures of superion and menasor being played with, the kids were practically entering puberty.

My point is huge oversized toys are for babies. Go to any TRU and you will see that all the baby toys are huge.

I think Cyclonus is a cool concept, stealing other team's members, feeding on their power, fits Galvatron/Galvatronus very well!
Maybe Galvatronus died, and haunted Cyclonus, and gave Cyclonus combiner powers, so Cyclonus sometimes get's out of control, and Galvatron's ghost taked over or something. I don't know I'm just trying to think of a backstory.

Maybe he nearly died, and ordered the Decepticons to integrate what was left of him into an upgraded body for Cyclonus. The mind control is because Mindwipe complained, so he got used for spare parts.

I think Takara-Tomy will just go with the visor version of the head sculpt. Even though in the original cartoon, Devastator's face would just randomly switch between the visor and the two eyes look within the same episodes, I'm pretty sure Takara considers the visor look the "correct" version of the character. They made a brand new sculpt of THAT version for the Encore 20A "Anime Devastator" released a few years ago.

A lot are... but some are still pretty awesome.
I've got TRU Gigantic 24'' Godzilla squaring off against Mattel's 24" Voltron right now. Not a whole lot to that Godzilla, but he looks awesome and is HUGE!!!![]()

Oops! I thought Giant robots and monsters from the 80's of comparable size was pretty on topic...
If it helps I'll mention that the first thing I plan on doing with Titan Devastator is setting him up in an epic battle with at least one of those!

Great googley-moogly....
Sizing up my Armada Tidal Wave to Titan Metroplex (Tidal Wave's around the same height as the CW Combiners) and using the Devy pics as a reference, Devy looks like his might come up to the height of Metroplex's belly button.munkimus prime wrote:Devy is awesome and everything but where's my size comparison with Metroplex?.

Well, okay, it's not so much a belly button as it is a chest button, but "belly button" sounds funnier.carytheone wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Sizing up my Armada Tidal Wave to Titan Metroplex (Tidal Wave's around the same height as the CW Combiners) and using the Devy pics as a reference, Devy looks like his might come up to the height of Metroplex's belly button.munkimus prime wrote:Devy is awesome and everything but where's my size comparison with Metroplex?.
Jeez, how tall is Metroplex? I thought he was around 24 inches and Devy is around 18 inches?
Now I would like to see those two standing side by side.
